Democracy or a Coronation?

DEMOCRACY OR A CORONATION?

Matt.19: 29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

Jam.4: 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

I Pet.5: 5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

There are the great events which laid humans and their achievements. The Oscars, the Globes, The Emmys, the sports awards, the $10,000 a plate fundraisers, the Nobel Peace Prize, and even the Christian world has its Dove awards. And then there is tomorrow’s inauguration. A spectacle to be sure which will cost in excess of 100 million dollars of gratuitous fanfare. This is no democracy; this is a coronation which occurs every four years.

But please take a step back and see the stark difference between what men do and what Jesus teaches. All the regal trimmings that elevate men and their positions, and yet Jesus had nowhere to place His head. “But that was Jesus”, you contend. So now once again we must confine Jesus and His teachings to the church house? We are allowed to parse what He said and make them conformable in different ways to different situations? And if that be so then we have little more than a suggestion box rather than the immutable Word of God.

We are called to be humble servants, not Hollywood idols. Rather than be applauded and even lauded, we are to think of ourselves as unprofitable servants.

But we should expect this from the kingdom of darkness which loves itself. In fact we should pity them. But instead people who profess Jesus support this ungodly system and many even participate in it. While people starve we play. While people lay in utter distress in need of medicine and treatment, we waste one hundred million dollars to sip champagne and dance. This is not following Jesus at all, and if you as a professing believer cannot recognize that fact in the face of such overt hedonism, then you are in great need of a spiritual awakening.

We are no of those who enjoy riotous living. We are called to a humble life of moderation. We are called to live lives that are conspicuous in their humility both of spirit and of material. We must not condemn those that party since we were once numbered among them. But we also must not cast lots with them. They are not of us and we are not of them. But we should pray that they can find life and life eternal through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Of course there are some true believers who will be there, however those who truly wish to follow in His steps should quietly and humbly abstain from such frivolity.

And what would you think if your father told you that he was so indebt that at any moment he might go bankrupt? And what if he said there was absolutely no money in his bank account for anything? And what would you think if as he was saying that he was walking out the front door for a worldwide vacation with all expenses paid? Well, as you see the Inauguration tomorrow, remember, these are the same people who claim we are in a financial crisis.

Oh how the Spirit must grieve because God’s people are falling for a lie. And that lie is that God’s Kingdom can be compatible with the kingdoms of this world. And God does not see out of two human eyes. While we see what we want to see God sees the entire world continually. God see the starving children; God sees the AIDs infected African mother as she dies; God sees the millions and millions of orphans living in squalor; God sees people getting their limbs blown off; God’s sees the infant in Darfur sucking at a dry nipple; God sees how the prosperous party while the downtrodden die in pain. So as people dine sumptuously tomorrow, remember that what you are seeing is a vapor, here today and gone tomorrow.

Only God’s Word is truth.

But Pastor, didn't you know we have unalienable rights? Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Freedom is a gift from God and must be secured here on earth.

The grief is unbearable because the lie is so in our faces.

Lord forgive them for they know not what they do.

Revival Church! An on your knees praying Revival! Now, not tomorrow or next week or next year, NOW!

A gathering together of the body of Christ in corporate and individual prayer. A Faith so strong to move mountains.

Who is in? Who of you will sacrifice and spend time in humble prayer asking for God to move? True Revival, not some haphazard, half hearted attempt. Humble, tear filled, beseeching the Lord to move in our midst in these last days. To beseech Him, Thy Kingdom Come, THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in Heaven.

Psalm 4:6
There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

Isaiah 6:8
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Do you hear the call? I'm going with or without you.

All GLORY and HONOR and PRAISE be to my God and your God and to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Living God. Who was, and is, and is to come. Even so come, Lord Jesus, soon!

your sister in Christ Jesus,

This is so unfortunately true. There's so much hypocrisy going around and so much excess and over-spending and glorifying of man, and men's achievements.

It seems that swearing ins include using the Bible, and benedictions galore, and lots of calls for God to bless this and that. And it is disturbing to see so much grand spectacle and expectation that God is in on it.

But since Adam and Eve, it's inside men's hearts to rebel against God. Satan wants men to believe they can be like God. He told Eve, surely you will not die, if she ate the forbidden fruit. It's in men's hearts to want to reach their potential and reach the stars, pushing God aside. I still wonder why the Lord ALLOWED man to travel and land on the moon. I felt that was something that scripture had never mentioned. I wonder if that was an affront to God, for man to try to reach a place where God had no intention for him to reach. Jesus came to earth to die for men on earth. If the U.S. and other nations allow the rumored possibility of Mars exploration and colonies, and people actually move there and bear children there, would God's promise and Jesus' sacrifice include those who do inhabit planet earth?

Scripture was pretty intent on focusing on this world. We are on the precipice of mocking God's will for us with increased knowledge. There are so many activities here on earth that politicians strive for that are against God's plan for mankind. Imagine the billions of dollars that were spent on the space program. No christians seemed to be too concerned then. Nor do they seem concerned about any kind of abominable over-spending. But they do seem concerned since the election of the 44th president. Why such an interest in placing the fear of God in churches now? Is it because they have some ulterior motive?

Pastors who never had a problem with our sinful spending habits would still use the 2 Chronicles verse on their sites. If my people who are called by my Name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." I don't know how any pastor (and I don't know how I could have been so blind) couldn't warn the sheep to keep away from idols of things that look like the Tower of Babel. Pastors never once (I've never heard) about how we are striving to reach the heavens without God's help. It might not be a physical Tower of Babel, but a figurative Tower, where we want to reach the stars.

Sorry that I went way off topic. Just thinking out loud.

I think it is neither! It seems to me a flagrant display of the pride of life before friend and foe!

Washington D.C. is an amazing collection of poor communities surrounding the Federal Government of the United States plus a collection of foreigners from countries far and wide. Even our public enemies have consulates there!

As you've noted already there was an extraordinary amount of money spent on the festivities and all of it tax deductible! I have to say for one who enjoys lobster and game meats I envy those invited to the congressional luncheon after the swearing in of the P. & V.P.!
