The World Has Ended for Some

THE WORLD HAS ALREADY ENDED FOR SOME

I watched a program about a heroin addict. She was 23 years old and had been an addict for many years. At the age of 13 her mother decided to live her own life and ran away. She shacked up with a boyfriend. The girl’s father was somewhat emotionless and was employed as an engineer. Needless to say none of them were believers. As the girl went from alcohol to pot and all the way to heroin, she still desired to contact her mother.

Finally she went to visit her mother and although the relationship was strained, she went several times. On one visit the mother’s boyfriend raped this girl. He raped her several times over the next few months but the girl kept quiet. Finally, she opened up and told her mother. Instead of calling the authorities (she was 15 at the time) the mother blamed her daughter for perhaps leading the boyfriend on. That lead the 15 year old girl into heroin.

Let me inform all you believers who suggest the world will end if gay marriage becomes legal. For some, like this girl, the world has already ended. And while we play stick our finger in the moral dike, millions like this girl need Jesus. I doubt the western church even cares anymore.

As long as she is breathing there is still hope for her to be saved. We may look at her condition of heroin being the worst possible place she could find herself. God allows each one of us to find ourselves in any given position for one purpose only...that purpose is for salvation. One of us may find ourselves using heroin as our "fix" instead of Christ. Another of us may use prostitution as our "high" instead of Christ. One of us may gamble as our "high"...whatever. The point is, the Lord allows these low gutter points for some of us to reach that absolute lowest point of hopelessness. This is where He reveals the Only True Hope to be found is in His Son Jesus the Christ. Wherever that may be is different for each one of us. Some will not be saved at all because they love their sin, John 3:19,even though to you and I that may seem impossible. After all, who could love heroin over Jesus Christ? The false god of heroin, etc etc is alluring as any other false god offering false, temporal hope.
This is an example of God's Grace. He may, in fact, be giving honoring her heart's desire. He alone knows her heart and will deliver accordingly.

ETA
I was thinking of the title to this latest article, Brother Rick.
From the perspective of those of us born anew of His Spirit, it is a right statement.
The World Has Already Ended For Some...Yes! For those of us who are born anew of His Spirit, this world holds nothing for us! Philippians 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

Yes, Shannon, it is a glorious paradox. To be sure the true followers of Jesus have given up their lives and embraced His.

AMEN!!

We are awaiting Our Blessed Hope...Jesus the Christ!

Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
