A Toxic Arena of Sin

For those of you who still participate in this antichrist governmental system, I want to hold up a mirror and show exactly what it is you support. Just as a sidenote, I could mention how many adulterers continue to be elected to state and national office. Even Newt Gringrich, a serial adulterer garnered millions of supporters inside the Republican party which seems to pride itself on its moral stands. Yes, he was running for president and he was the same man who excoriated President Clinton for his philandering. Just this week the Republican party of South Carolina nominated former governor Mark Sanford for the United States senate. Sanford had made his adultery a soap opera while still in office, and at his acceptance rally his fiancé/mistress was there standing and smiling behind him. He introduced her to his delirious fans. Ok, I could go on and on and on and on and I could suggest that at this very moment there are national and state elected officials involved in adultery who have yet to be caught.

Here is a list of some of the scandals involving federal officials.
But I want to narrow it down to one recent case which reveals the putrid nature of the beast and exposes politics for the antichrist fraud that it has always been.

Virginia Governor Bob McDonald was a staunch pro-life governor who attempted to force every abortion candidate to be subjected to a vaginal ultrasound in an effort to dissuade her form having the abortion. A noble pursuit however these are the same people who say they love the Constitution. I guess the Constitution is like Gumby, it can bend and twist when you want it to. Gov. McDonald also has pushed tough legislation designed to make it more difficult to vote, especially for poorer people.

But on his way out of office the governor has crafted a pretty clever golden parachute. To begin with, the chef who was chosen by the governor to work at the governor’s mansion had to leave because he was indicted for felony embezzlement. But in a long tradition of “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” the chef and his catering company cooked for the governor’s daughter’s wedding held at the governor’s mansion. And just so there would be no hint of impropriety concerning the former chef, the governor sent his spokesman to inform the press that the family was picking up the tab.

But when questions arose, the spokesman changed his statement to say that the governor’s daughter and her fiancé had picked up the entire tab for the event. Ok…now the plot thickens. It seems by “paying for it” it means the daughter accepted the event as a gift from one of the governor’s campaign contributors. Conveniently, gifts to the family do not need to be reported. But during the eigtht months of his 2009 campaign that same contributor donated over $28,000 worth of air travel to the governor’s political action committee. (PAC) And in 2011 and 2012 the governor received almost $10,000 worth of food and lodging and entertainment from the same company.

Now the company that continues to donate so graciously to the governor produces a product called Anatabloc. It is a non FDA approved anti-inflammatory drug which contains a product produced by the tobacco plant. The company which is the producer is Star Tobacco. You know, Virginia and tobacco. The public launch for the product was held at the governor’s mansion and paid for by the governor’s PAC. Bless be the tie that binds. You inject money into my hands and I will open the mansion doors for you. It’s the American way.

Now three days before the governor’s daughter’s wedding the governor’s wife was flown down to Florida to tout the incredible benefits of using that product. It’s all so warm and fuzzy. Ok all you mothers, what were you doing three days before your daughter’s wedding? I thought so. The company in question is being investigated for transactions involving the company’s securities transactions. And in another warm and fuzzy moment the man chosen as the Republican nominee to succeed Governor McDonald is a significant share holder in that same company. He is in a little hot water for going almost a year without disclosing that he owned those shares of stock.

Are you feeling a little sticky and unclean? I mean these kinds of chummy money deals which live on the very fringe of legality and sometimes cross the line are being done across the nation.

Remember, this guy was being groomed for a possible Republican nomination for vice president and he presents himself as a proud moralist. Oh the unsavory compromises and the under the table gifts and donations and the practice of self aggrandizements flourish within the entire political system. And when these men and women leave office there awaits for them a sea of opportunities to make much more money. President Clinton, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, and many, many others have become millionaires many times over just because of their “relationships” with movers and shakers. This American political structure is nothing more than a ponzi scheme self described as “public service”. Yes, the American public is that dumb. Sorry.

And allow me to add just a little more insight into this toxic waste dump.

Thirty years ago Chuck Hagel who is now the Secretary of Defense strongly suggested that the Veteran’s Administration become computerized. Thirty years later they are still not computerized. And now there are almost one million cases backlogged concerning veteran disability claims. And because of two costly wars the number has ballooned. And consider this: While hundreds of thousands of veteran’s await their case to be heard, one veteran per day commits suicide while waiting. Ok, let’s all say the Pledge of Allegiance.

And instead of going into all the diabolical scheming that goes on during war and in the military in general, I direct you to THIS.

That is only a small sampling of a fallen system that is so energetically supported by many who claim to believe in and follow Jesus. I suggest and strongly contend Jesus is not in that system and that all who claim His name should come out from among them.

Resume general swim, but do not drink the water.

The last time I voted was 4 years ago for a third party. I wasn't sure if my vote counted & if I should even vote anymore. So I didn't vote at all this last & I won't vote again. My friends & family thought that I was insane but I don't care.

I was in the Air Force Reserves for 8 years and I met my husband while serving. One good thing that came out of my serving but you are right the misuse of funds is criminal. All this while people starve.

My husband is one of the millions waiting for VA disability-it cost him stage 2 lung cancer. He's lost 2/3 of his right lung because of the chemicals "that we're safe to use" in jet aircraft mechanics.

Thanks for telling it like it is Rick.

The lies of over 200 years ago are the same as today. My own children called me anti-american because I strongly urged them Not to join the military. My heart goes out to the young men lied to by their superior officers, they are following what they think they should do.

I also think it is appalling that the recruiters use bus sized vehicles with all kinds of video games to attract the youth. And the cars they drive are suped up that would make any young man drool.

I had no problem telling a recruiter exactly what I thought of that. Why do they need to embellish it?

Americans stupid, not by accident, by their own will.

John the Baptist disclosed the scandals of Herod's day, and so it continues.

Fox network was considered a truth network..... uh, no.

Now in a previous post we were to consider the homosexual, is that same compassion extended to the politician? I hope so for all are sinners and all should REPENT. We were once them.

But I will not hold my breath for them to change. I will continue to pray for them as God's Word instructs, and live a life worthy of God. That is all I can do. Intercessory prayer is a great place to start.

However, Jesus is coming back soon, not soon enough for me, but soon. May He find some faithful, if not all. Like Abraham prayed for righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah, if but ten.

Genesis 18:26-33

King James Version (KJV)

26 And the Lord said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.

27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:

28 Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.

29 And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake.

30 And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.

31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake.

32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

33 And the Lord went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

Pray for these people. Did we forget that God puts things good and evil in the hearts of man? All things are done by God to His Will. The end will come to all of us, saved and the unsaved.

If we are to have compassion, have it for all. Jesus died for all, not only those we the church think deserve more of our compassion and our prayers.

I don't know.....something has changed and I am not sure if it is right.

Love to all.

Please know I am praying for you. My brother was in the air force and the military left him a drunk. The stress these men have to deal with is cruel.

May God give you comfort in this struggle.

God bless you and your husband

When I was a kid in Canada, our house was a few yards from the U.S. border. We could look out our dining room window and see the American town's streets and cars and homes. I desperately wanted to live in the U.S. We'd go there to grocery shop because chicken and milk and gas was always cheaper.

There was always something I couldn't put my finger on about how the homes and streets were inviting and polished and quaint and the colonial-style libraries, and town squares and brick buildings......and the proud flags on homes. There was a spirit of fierce pride and community unity that I couldn't feel in my own Canadian town. I suppose it's because Canadians are known to be more guarded and don't express their patriotism so boldly. Even so, they are patriotic, but there's just something about Americans - and one feels it. And one feels the prosperity and the positive outlook.

America is so unique in that way to an outsider. But, of course, looks aren't everything the applie pie image is waning. But, as far as the American church is concerned, it seems to want to be the 'protector' of this American apple pie dream. It's goal seems to of protecting the American dream rather than being about the work of the great gospel commission. It's turned the great commission into being protectors of the Founding Fathers, the Flag, Constitution, Amendment Rights, Guns, and some unfamiliar idea of God. The church hasn't noticed how changed it's become and how it's traded Jesus for George Washington, Lincoln, Reagan, and the conservative leaders.

What's noticable listening to conservative pundits and christian leaders up is how they see things; up is down and down is up. Self-professed christian conservatives are mad that universities fire abusive coaches, yell and scream about their rights, won't care for their worn and poor, reward the rich, take away food stamps from babies, protect adulterers, vote for philanderers, endorse questionnable ethically-challenged candidates, use foul unholy language, and would have everyone believe the President is the anti-christ.

Is this the church's business? While their Rome is spiritually burning, they are twiddling their thumbs worried that their traditions are threatened and they put their trust in a party that pretends it has answers for the fallen spiritual state of their country. Love you all, sweet U.S. citizens and citizens of the world. If only we could realize we need only focus on Jesus and then everything would fall into place.

It's true that what Cherie C. brought up about the compassion that should be shown by us to all those who should repent, unbelievers and the misled believing (compassion extended to both the homosexual and the politician).

But, a pastor, or a minister, or a teacher, or a prophet, or a watchman's job is to point out error to the church. I think that is what Rick tries to do.

The sheep need to be fed, as Jesus told Peter and as we all know. The sheep who are led astray by worshipping and revering other things need to be constantly corrected and gently led by the shepherd's staff. And if one is led to be that spokesman, to lead in guiding the church on a clean path, we rejoice.

I happened upon James 2:13: "For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment".

It's so easy to be influenced by politicians, leaders who claim they are christian, who show so little mercy on sinners and unbelievers that they would make these certain sinners as political pawns and tools for their own gain. They use the plight of the sinner so they can achieve high standing in the eyes of man. They benefit monetarily and are promoted at the highest levels.

To me, and from what I think the bible teaches, is that it's not a forgiven redeemed child of God to judge anyone, yet God does appoint His teachers to warn christians who hate sinners to stop, stop, stop on this hating unbelievers. It's a horrible testimony to what Christ represents. And by correcting the christian hater, it might help that christian hater into seeing their folly and repenting. Of course we are supposed to love the misled politicians and pray for them too.

A true christian shouldn't rejoice when they see sinners fall or fail or cast off, or mocked. And a true christian doesn't accuse an unbeliever who has no knowledge or conviction yet of godly things. It's the christian hater, who, in my mind, is the one who needs correction, because he is supposed to be an Ambassador of Jesus. And those Ambassadors have lost their focus.

I know that men like Newt, and Mike Huckabee and Rush and and Glen and Rick Wiles and Mark Sanford and others who have received God's forgiveness (according to them) for their past sins and errors are forgiven. But they take that forgiveness and return to their old attitudes and act cruelly towards those who were once like them. They are like the master, who was once forgiven for his debts, who throws his indebted into jail.

Good word. Let us remember that our words should be seasoned with salt as it pertains to the lost. It is quite possible to take a Biblical stand against conding homosexual behavior while being grievously blind to our own unbiblical issues and behavior. This is not abot whethere momosexual behavior is a sin. I always try to make that clear.
This is about how we as followers of Jesus should speak and act redemptively as well as how we shine the same bright light on ourselves as we do on others.

Cherie c. said...

I never said I disagreed. I only said the focus is too one sided.

Pastors are supposed to point out error, but they are also supposed to do so where sin is concerned.

What ever happened to the old fire and brimstone sermons on sin? Before my time unfortunately.

Thank you , brothers & sisters for praying for us. Needless to say it's been a test in faith in Jesus. But I feel so much more richer in spirit now than I have before.

To my Canadian sister/brother, I have always loved the Canadians' manners. I know that your country has it's problems too. All countries do. When I was in my teens I wanted to learn more about our Canadian roots.

It's great knowing that despite our localities we have one common denominator: Jesus.

God Bless everyone & have a great weekend :)

As much as I was happy to hear that our nations leaders are calling to cut the military budget in half, it was with that information I joyed and wondered if this would be a season of exchanging swords for ploughshares - but the Holy Spirit stopped me short here... So in Faith my prayers move forward. "Following Judah's Lion"- being here reading Ricks work reaffirmed a very important thing for me in my walk, which though we extoll our King, our Lion on His throne in the heavens, we new covenant believers are living out the heart changes bestowed to the Lamb of God. Pinched in between the sword of the Old Testament and the Sword of Revelation we're to be learning to be ministers of His Love, meek yet courageous. Oh how this is lost by our fantasies of Narniah...our flesh seeks to draw swords, but the only sword that Jesus requires us to use is the Holy Spirit. And mighty he is. In most of my walk I have been a man with a warring heart, for Gods reasons he placed me in many dangerous situations but as of late I've learned to rely on my Lord and not my fists. Gentle, slow to speak, loving, kindness, the fruit of the Spirit... This is us.

I see the problem as being entirely a republican and democrat problem. I guess you single out republicans because of the purported connection of "conservative", "christian" and republican.

The Lord has much to say on governing officials who take bribes, as well as justice officials who do not practice justice.

I lead a youth group at my church, and last week we had an excellent teaching on "Brandings and Labels". The youth leader's closing statement was this: "What you choose to label someone pretty much decides how you are going to treat them." We, as Christ's body, should be especially senstive to this. I suggest a label of "Child of God" or "Loved by God" for every individual alive on the planet. It would be most helpful to us in focusing on treating all people with mercy, justice and kindness.

Rick, I have been reading your blog for years and I have agreed with you and you have taught me a great deal. Thanks so much for your hard work. Recently when reading the Word something jumped out at me that I never saw before. Well actually 2 things. First one
Jesus plainly instructed His disciples to buy a sword (Luke 22:36). The Roman sword was the most effective and efficient self-defense tool in the world at the time. I believe, that when Jesus uttered this command, it was against the law for Hebrews to possess a sword of this type. Yes, Jesus commanded His disciples to break the law of man in order to obey the higher Natural Law of God.
The 2nd thing was when I was reading Hebrews 11. It struck me that this heroes of the faith where completely engaged in the Political realm of the day. Granted that was the old testament mostly but it's appearance in the New testament confused me.
Jehovah of the Old Testament and Jesus of the New Testament are One. There is absolutely no doubt that Jehovah approved of, authorized, and directly ordered the use of violent resistance against myriads of oppressors, dictators, and despots of all kinds. Dont you think that To preach the doctrine of nonresistance, one must ignore the entire Old Testament, not to mention a host of New Testament passages--including Hebrews 11
So to sum it all up ...I'm confused at how to conduct my life in these last days?

Rick Frueh said...

There were many things that were confounding in the Old Testament, but we are now living completely under the spirit and direction of the New Testament. We must always interpret Scripture by the clear teaching and not an obscure narrative. Many believe the sword Jesus mentioned could have beem used for food, however Jesus taught and exhibited a life of nonviolence.
Cesaer would have been a prime candidate for violent overthrow but Jesus never even hinted at it. In fact, Jesus seemed disinterested in the political climate of the day. The Jews were so interetsed in politics many believed Jesus came for political reasons and were blind to His realmission.
But thank you for some thinking observations.

Disciples of Jesus need to "buy" the word of God from Him, not swords made of metal!

Hebrews 4:12

12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." – Revelation 12:11

Our prayer is for the word of God to be the sure foundation of the word of our testimony.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Good discussion and thanks to Anon 9:40 for bringing up those observations from the Scriptures.

My thought is that most of the confusion about political activism/militarism vs. non-violence/separation from politics for Disciples, arises from a misunderstanding of the identity of the Kingdom of God and of the nature of the Kingdom in this present age.

I believe that the nation of Israel in the Old Testament was the only true theocracy, established by God by His initiative, by covenant. It was the earthly manifestation of the Kingdom of God, BEFORE the full revelation of the King in JesusChrist was manifest. It was also a type and shadow of the true Kingdom which yet in the future will cover the whole earth. "Firat the natural, then the spiritual."

So under the theocracy of the old covenant, rule and reign, justice and redemption, were demonstrated in an earthly way. So you see destruction of the heathen nations, physical palaces and temples and kings, altar sacrifices, etc. which were real but also only shadows of the more perfect revelations to come after the incarnation and resurrection.

But now, He has spoken to us through (in) His Son. We post-resurrection believers enter into the New Covenant wherein the old types and shadows fade away. We enter into the spiritual reality of the Kingdom, during this age, having a spiritual Kingdom, using spiritual weapons, in the reality of the outpoured Holy Spirit. The nature of the Kingdom is spiritual and not observed in physical things right now. Consider the many descriptions of the Kingdom given by Jesus: like the wind, like seeds on soil, like a vineyard, not eating and drinking, not of this world so His disciples don't fight by the sword, etc.

(Eventually, the Kingdom will rule all the kingdoms of this world in even a physical way, after the Second Coming.)

I hold a two-kingdom theology; and that makes the difference in understanding the Scriptures, the relationship of the
Old and New Testaments.
