The Hypocrisy of Politics

The Republican Party likes to label itself as the “family values” party. Then why is a serial adulterer, who is currently married to one of his mistresses, the frontrunner in their primaries? The answer is simple.
Politics as all about money. All the other issues are mere window dressing. But the issue that must always be at the forefront of the church is this:
Who do you say Jesus of Nazareth is?”

That is what Republicans, Democrats, and Independents need to address. And when we as believing followers of the Lord Jesus watch the unseemly spectacle in next years political narrative, it should break our hearts. We used to be involved in that mess. And tens of millions actually believe electing their candidate will solve their problems.
And people will endure the self righteousness, the duplicity, the lying about their own records, the false promises, the demeaning of the other candidate, and the obscene amount of money that will be spent. It is estimated that this political season will spend more than a billion dollars just trying to manipulate people into voting for some candidate. The entire construct is humanism and antichrist at its core.
Do you want to please your Lord during this political cycle? Then retreat to your prayer closet in repentance and brokenness, and seek Christ with all your heart. Give your heart completely to Him and do not allow your heart to be caught up with anything but Him. There is only one cause and that is the gospel. Our system as believers is not a democracy. We live and breathe and have our being in a monarchy, and in fact, our life is in our Monarch.
During this time of utter foolishness and unbridled darkness, we could allow the light of Jesus Christ to shine through us most brightly.
