Another Embarrassing Voice Heard From


ANOTHER EMBARRASING VOICE HEARD FROM

As is their want, the moralistic, patriotic voices rise to the occasion. Instead of having a common sense conversation on gun control, or better yet a sharing of the importance of eternity, Mike Huckabee pontificates about kicking God out of the schools linked to HERE. If allowing a perfunctory prayer led by many unbelievers passes as "allowing" God in schools, then I would agree. As one who heard Bible readings as well as prayer in public schools when I was young, it is worthless if not counterproductive. I remember a very mean third grade teacher reading passages of Scripture and leading in a stilted prayer. I hardly think that passes as allowing God in schools. In fact, before we "allow" Him in schools, we might want to invite Him back in our churches.
Note: As per the Constitution the Koran would have to be read as well, and prayers would have to be of the deist variety lest they stray from the pluralistic construct of those founding fathers. Jesus, who IS God, was not allowed anywhere in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. That may be a good place to start.

Will there ever come a time where professing believers quit lifting up the Dagons of morality and nationalism and suggest that they are God? The shooter’s mother was somewhat of a doomsdayer type, but was also a law abiding citizen who owned several firearms and who taught her children how to fire them. The shooter was sometimes home schooled. Don’t those kind of credentials represent those of Huckabee?

As I said, I grew up in public school classrooms where God “was still allowed in”. We listened as the teacher read the Bible, primarily from the Psalms or Proverbs, We bowed our heads and listened to the same, stale prayers. And I never heard one single peep about Jesus emanate from the lips of any of my teachers.

So that is his idea of God being allowed in the classroom? Which God does He know? Until I was almost 22 years old I had never heard the phrase “born again”. What does that tell you? That says that in many people’s view the war is having some symbolic relics practiced in the classroom representing God. Nothing could be further from the truth. Back in those days we practiced morality and tradition. No Spirit, no presence, and no spiritual reality. Just dead, dry religion. But people demand we return to those days.

How about looking into the mirror, Mr. Huckabee? How about all the political rhetoric you and people like you practice? How about you supporting a Mormon, or do you thing God lives in Salt Lake City any deeper than He does in the public schools? Like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson suggesting 9/11 was because of the gays and abortion, now Huckabee suggests that God is offended when we removed some religious rituals from the school system. God wasn’t offended when the founding fathers refused to include the name of Jesus in their original documents? Is Huckabee suggesting that God was angry and used this event to show His displeasure with the public schools? Or was he saying that if these kindergarteners would have prayed in their classroom God would have protected them? His views are both nonsense and disturbing.

The horror of Friday was because of sin. The Scriptures tell us that wickedness will increase in the last days. Of course the current gun laws are insane, but at the root of it all is sin. Go ahead, blame the godless liberals. Perhaps this kid was gay. That would be an additional target for those on the mountain called Hubris located in the land of the religious right. God in the schools? How about God in our lives? Collect all the manger scenes, all the plaques inscribed with the Ten Commandments, all the public prayers, all the Christmas pageants, all the reclaim America gatherings, all the generic genuflects to God, all the conservative talk shows, all the liberal talk shows, and most of what goes on Sunday mornings, collect it all and you have little more than some religious tokens with the same power as Santa Claus.

But if we can shoehorn God back into the classroom violence would cease. I hold out a hope that some believers are more spiritual than that. I hope.

I do agree with you and I remember prayers said in school before our lunch in the cafeteria. Of course that went away, just saying.

Personally, I think Huckabee's position is no more ludicrous than that of the left wanting to ban guns. What has changed? The guns or the people? Rhetorical question.

We are a lost nation, morally, spiritually and financially bankrupt. The future for our nation is bleak unless we repent and walk with God.

I appreciate the title to your post Rick. It is embarrassing...but I believe the "Mike Huckabee" example is exactly what Paul warned true believers about. Mike Huckabee may be saved but is deceived/deceiving.
The false church is growing/thriving.

I'm glad to see you bring to light the fact that the founding fathers mouthed God in the original documents, but never is the Name of All Names, The One True God, The Way, The Truth, The Life, Jesus Christ included. Only a "generic" god, one who is ecumenical and politically correct was allowed, much the same as today.
Thank you again for noting that the horror on Friday boils down to the "sin" problem. Unless the sin problem is dealt with we will experience more and more of these horrors. I am hearing many comments of how this shooter was "evil" and "wicked" and "must have a demon" etc etc. The fact is, every person, Christian/non-christian is capable of carrying out these kinds of wicked sins. It is only the restraining ministry of His Spirit keeping many/most of us from carrying out these acts. 1 Corinthians 10:12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall. Did not Jesus say that acting out a sin is the same as thinking the sin in your mind?
It will not be a collective national repentance but only individually. There is no such entity as "christian" nation, instead the Christian nation is an unseen Body scattered world wide. May the Lord add more today to this unseen Christian nation.

Agree.

There's just no reason(or what the Bible would call wisdom) with these christian leaders. They set themselves up as examples, and are making a mockery of God's only Son, and turning unbelievers off on Christ, and turning men away from even searching, because so many are offended by these unbiblical remarks. Men like Huckabee, unfortunately, offer another jesus to their viewers and followers, and those who might enter the Kingdom of Heaven, run away from it.

The idea that God would send punishment down on innocent children because liberals try to remove icons and tablets of the 10 Commandments and prayer out of schools seems so wrong on so many levels.

First of all, christians in China, and similar countries that incarcerate anyone who believes, live in fear for their lives everyday and in times past had to meet with fellow christians in hiding. God wasn't allowed in public places; would these brave christians then make public statements saying that the reason catastrophes that killed innocent children was God showing His displeasure because the christians were persecuted? Besides the fact that they wouldn't make any public announcements to out themselves, they'd still not make such claims, as they are the rare true christians whose attitudes couldn't even make such judgments. They sacrificially accept any persecution that may come their way.

To hear christian icons like this, on TV(who get highly paid for the time they make such unfounded statements), who seem to believe that every shooting tragedy or natural disaster is a direct result of God's wrath, is outrageous. Didn't Jesus respond to his disciples about the Tower of Siloam that fell and killed people - these people didn't die because of the sins of their fathers; he explained that horrible things happen in a sinful world, and all we can do is to be ready and saved.

How Huckabee can talk about a loving God who sent His only Son to die for our sins, to then proclaim that He exercise vengeance on innocent 6 and 7 year-olds, is not only offensive, it's downright phariseeical. It's the Old Testament belief that the Lord God was dealing through His Covenant with His people Israel. There were rules and expectations and the Old Covenant proved to humanity than man CAN'T keep the whole law. They fail everytime. The new Law not only takes care of all the loopholes, but it should make a true believer have a new attitude.

I find these pastors in the West are really trying to stay in the old attitude. And I believe it's because they lust for power and greed, and they deep down inside know that they can't get away with lust and greed by the New Law; so they try to justify their lust for power and greed by focusing on the Old Law.

First paragraph is intriguing, revealing to us that there are/have been many countries over the years claiming "Christian nation" status.

"Over the past two millennia many nations have claimed to be a “Christian nation.” The whole Roman empire became “Christian” in 312 AD, France became a “Christian nation” in 466 AD and technically England remains one to this day, since the monarch is both head of the “church” and head of the state. Germany was a “Christian nation” when it spawned Nazism. Sweden and Denmark became “Christian nations” in the 11th and 12th centuries respectively. South Africa made the same claim until 1994 when overnight it changed from “Christian” to Secular/Communist. These are but a few examples of the many nations that have claimed to be “Christian” over the last 2,000 years."

Any nation can claim to be “Christian” just as any person can make the same claim. But, claiming to be “Christian” does not make one a Christian. The word “Christian” means a follower of Christ. The name was first used in Antioch: “And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch” (Acts 11:26). Thus a Christian is a disciple – one who follows Christ. It is clear that the vast majority of people who claim to be Christians do not follow Christ. And the same can be applied to those nations who use the same title.

My comment: Most seem to follow a Jesus of their own making.
Satan has already been defeated. Don't know this other Jesus or those listening to demonic teachings that tells believers and professing believers to go and fight against the world system because of our rights.

Most are taking offense at their "rights" being stolen from them or infringed upon :(
When He redeemed us (true, born from above believers) from the slave block of sin, we lost/freely gave up, all "rights" in this world. We became a slave to Jesus Christ. We are now free from gratifying the sin of self...We must deny self in order to follow Him. We cannot serve two masters. We cannot go down two paths at the same time.
We do not belong to ourselves any longer, but belong to Him Who bought us with His Blood shed on the Cross of Calvary. Since this world is no longer our home, we are citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven. While we are pilgrims, visitors passing through the nations of this earth, we follow the laws of this land and are to be exemplary law-abiding citizens. This example is much the same as a visitor/tourist going from the United States into Saudi Arabia, for example. We study the law of Saudi Arabia, in order to behave accordingly, as a guest, obeying the law of the land, according to their customs, while we are visiting there. We carry the Name of Jesus Christ and are His ambassadors wherever/whatever nation we find ourselves in while in this world.
The Word of God is our Constitution. We Pledge Allegiance only to one King, Jesus Christ, the Son of the Most High God, Creator of All.

I was thinking as I was reading, how much I don't want to call America "my" country, "my" home. I'm so glad to know I'm only here temporarily and just "passing through"!
Also, I'm so glad I'm not affiliated with any institutional church anymore. I am a member of the True Church, an unseen entity scattered world-wide!
Also, I'm so grateful the Lord has opened my eyes to the idolatry of "allegiance" to any nation here in this world, and the Declaration of Independence for the U.S. Why would a born again believer put trust/faith in any "Declaration of "Independence" with any nation on earth? We can't be "independent". We are owned by and belong to Jesus Christ!
What does the world have to offer a believer that is better than what the Lord gives us and has done for us? He loved me so much He sacrificed His life willingly so I could have life eternal with Him! All my needs are provided daily abundantly and according to His will!

Thank you all for the important comments. When was the last time I heard anyone bringing up the fact that born-again saints are bought with the Highest Price, so that we are no longer our own nor anyone else's possessions?! We cannot give ourselves nor our allegiance to anyone but Christ Who rightfully owns us.

If such basic biblical truth had been continued to be preached in american evangelical churches, maybe it would have prevented such widespread worldliness and "adultery" and politicization of churchianity.

It's been a very long time since I've heard anyone mention the fact Jesus Christ bought and paid for us with the Highest Price one could ever pay, His Life-blood.
Amen! He owns us! He bought us, redeeming us from the slave block of sin. We are no longer of this world.
These Truths are not preached in most American, nor any other, evangelical churches around the world, because the physical church is a combination of believers/professing believers side by side. The tares amongst the wheat. Today, many, dare I say "most", preachers behind the pulpit are the false teachers 2 Peter 2:1-3 warns/speaks of. As well as 2 Corinthians 11:13-15. The Spirit is bringing to light for us the validity and seriousness of these verses of Peter and Paul to light for us.
Because of this, the True Church, an unseen entity scattered worldwide throughout all nations, should not be surprised at the "worldliness", the "adultery", the "politicization" and churchianity. We understand the Word warns us of the apostasy. We want the physical church to be only those born of His Spirit, but understand that since the Church was first in its beginnings, the world was invited in. The problems began then and continue to worsen today. The Church is true believers with His Spirit. The gathering of true believers was originally intended to teach us the Word, fellowship, in order to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
History shows the world has been invited into the mix. Compromise has watered down the Word so that now the physical church is not feeding the Church. Many times today, the Lord is leading His Sheep out from amongst them to learn from Him at home for a time.

This is the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America. I was re-looking at it and do not see anywhere in it how it represents the voice of someone who is not a citizen of this nation, i.e. those born of His Spirit, citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven. This Constitution was written by man, not God.
This "perfect" Union spoken of, is speaking of the "community" of the people of this nation. We (born again believers) are not of this world.
What is True Justice? Justice has been served by Jesus Christ for us all by His death on the Cross.
What is "domestic Tranquility" without True Peace? The "Peace" of God that passes all understanding, salvation , having our sins washed away for all time.
Do the people truly provide for the "common defense"? Isn't God Our (believers) Defender?
What is "general Welfare"? Isn't He caring for our (believers) welfare according to His will?
The people do not secure our "liberties". A believer freed from the bondage of sin has true liberty as defined in God's Word.
"Our Posterity"...How can man determine and pronounce "liberty" on our children and children's children?


"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
