A Man Made Reality

The people march in the streets and gather in the parks - the Tea Party and the Wall Street occupation movement and others. Congress is deadlocked over the debt ceiling, and the last Republican debate was about the economy. Both parties recite the mantra they believe will resonate with the masses - jobs, jobs, jobs. Trade policies as well as immigration are seen as detriments to our economy and personal wealth. Health care costs sky rocket and gasoline remains economically volatile. And of course taxes are the most important issue of all.

All of these issues as well as many more have at their core the issue of money. Even believers are most concerned/obsessed with such things. But in the midst of this continuing debate millions of living human beings are being systematically ripped from the God given safety of their mother’s wombs. And it is a lucrative business as well.

But abortion is nothing more than a political stand on a candidate’s checklist. Let us be frank - money is more important than the dismemberment of unborn babies. And the gospel is irrelevant in the political arena as evidenced by the tepid professions of faith and the embracing of the Mormon faith. So I ask you, you believers who have believed in the democratic system, who do you vote for this year?

God never wanted a democracy, but His own people rejected God’s judges and wanted to be like the heathen and have a king. So God let them choose Saul. Fast forward several millennia later and the church has now embraced a fallen system of government that embraces all kinds of false and pagan gods. In fact, most churches that claim to be Christian worship a false and pagan god they call jesus.

Perhaps this election will make things right. Perhaps the politicians are telling the truth this time. Perhaps just being against Obama is enough. Perhaps conservatism is a part of the gospel. Perhaps your vote will count this time. Perhaps if the country turns around and prospers the millionaire talk show hosts will have nothing to castigate. Perhaps George Washington did not get incredibly rich on the backs of slaves. Perhaps God does sanction killing when there is taxation without representation. Perhaps.

And if you believe those things then you remain deceived and imprisoned by a reality of your own creation. And perhaps you will still be such in 2016 when a fresh round of "hope" comes around.

Amen !!

And a false reality the enemy manipulates to lead the Church to his side.
