"This weekend, hundreds of pastors, including some of the nation’s evangelical leaders, will climb into their pulpits to preach about American politics, flouting a decades-old law that prohibits tax-exempt churches and other charities from campaigning on election issues.

The sermons, on what is called Pulpit Freedom Sunday, essentially represent a form of biblical bait, an effort by some churches to goad the Internal Revenue Service into court battles over the divide between religion and politics."

I suggest the pastors resign and enter politics if that is their calling. When we crowd out the gospel with politics we can no longer be considered a preacher of the gospel. And I will venture a prophetic guess. If the nation elects a “conservative” candidate, and if that candidate serves one or two terms, in the end abortion will still be legal, gay marriages will still be taking place, and lost souls will still be lost ( i.e. Ronald Reagan, George Bush I & II).

Only the power of the gospel can change a people. Period.
