Voting for Yourself

VOTING FOR YOURSELF

I would venture to say that the overwhelming amount of voters vote for their own interests, and very few vote against their own interests and for the interests of others.

Phil.2: 3-4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

I am not sure how you reconcile that principle with the attitudes in an election year, unless the New Testament is only lofty advice that is placed on hold during an election year.

Love of neighbor hardly the driving force. You're right.

Looking forward to not voting...(and quite frankly if President Obama were pro-life and actually maintained the pacifism and anti-corporatism of his youth --- I totally would vote for him...but no: neither candidate is grounded in godly principles.)
