War - Not the Way of Jesus
Over 100,000 Iraqi civilians killed
Many more wounded.
Americans - 4,477 US Soldiers Killed, 32,175 Seriously Wounded
Thousands of soldiers returned with post-traumatic stress disorder. Thousands have a hard time sleeping; hundreds (at least) are homeless; thousands abuse alcohol and drugs; many are violent; hundreds are now in prison due to violence; the divorce rate for Iraq vets has increased; many mental issues; and the military refuses to disclose the figures for suicide. And there are many more residual effects that abide inside the returning vets. (I count the trillions of dollars as subservient to human life.)
And the result? A pervasively corrupt government that resembles an oligarchy more than a democracy. The sectarian hatred still exists, the bombs still go off, and the unbridled violence is only stayed by the threat of American violence. As the American forces dwindle the violence will increase.
If you still believe this is the way of Jesus than you openly refuse to believe the New Testament.
