Hypocrisy, anyone?

Rom 2:22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?

This verse comes to mind.

Hypocrisy in politics seems to be on full-throttle display.

It is a sad day when the watchmen for the nation's morality are wealthy high-paid radio shock-jock hosts. Sadder that many christians fall for these as true gospel watchmen.

Yet these watchmen irresponsibly accuse others of declaring war on traditional values and marriage, but forget that those they accuse have never made it their intention to bring about a christian society.

These watchmen are barking up the wrong tree. They themselves don't live up to high standards, yet feel they have the authority to point the finger at others (politicians who work for the system rather than for the church). Politicians are into the politics because they want to help mammon, and that means treating everyone, regardless of lifestyle, equally, giving them the same benefits as others. All taxpayers rely on politicians to work in their best interests.

President Obama made an oath to serve all Americans. He never made an oath to christians that he would lift them up high and protect them from the moral sins of Americans.

The watchmen on the wall of the Bride of Christ have been idle and relinquishing their jobs to secular watchmen, who tickle the ears. The church should be listening to the TRUE watchmen, that give warning to the Bride of Christ, those who speak by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

The apostle Paul spoke against sin, among whom he claimed to be chief.

Amen indeed,

A most excellent example of why we must cease from wallowing in the idol potty water of partisan politics and insist on dragging this vile garbage into the midst of the "Called Out" ones. It has no place among those whom are not citizens of this world...Philippians 3:20. Have you "heard" The Lord lately? Have some of these characters who profess to be believers ever "heard" The Lord? How did the thief on the cross "know" that my Lord was a KING, and considering he himself was dying along side my Lord, how did he obviously discern that my Lord's KINGDOM was not of this world?...The revealtion of The Spirit in action…beautiful!

I simply do not understand the point of this. Can Rush not make this statement against our president because he has been married multiple times? Whether anyone looks to him as a watchman, is that person's business. As far as his statement goes- YES, our president IS leading a war on traditional marriage by sanctioning a union that is a COMPLETE PERVERSION of God's creation. That's why homosexuality is so vile to the Lord. So, there is a difference between what Obama is endorsing, and Rush's multiple marriages. My aunt, who is a believer, has been married 3 times, and my best friend, also a believer, is looking to marry a third time, all because of having men treat them horribly. So what! God did not destroy any cities due to men having multiple marriages, as he did Sodom, Gomorrah, and Gibeah. He also didn't call multiple marriages, "the filthy conduct of the wicked," as he did homosexuality. (2 Peter 2:7) Or, that men who married a few times would be "set forth as an example suffering the vengeance of eternal fire," as in homosexuality. (Jude 1:7) Seems to me that God has made a CLEAR distinction.

I get it. I know Obama "never made it his intention to bring about a christian society." Wow! He sure led people to think that he was a christian because he actually said that he was. He stated in a 2008 interview with Rick Warren, that he believed that marriage is between a man and a woman. With "God being in the mix." He sure has changed! "Protect us from the moral sins of America?" He in fact not only agrees with homosexuality, but now he's actually encouraging it, making it legal! Our very own president it endorsing this and Rush can not call him on this because he's been married 4 times?

I don't even listen to Rush, but I can sure tell from this title, which refers to "hypocrisy," that there is a total lack of discernment here. 2 Peter 2:4, states that the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were condemned to destruction, "making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly." We as true believers are to come out and OPPOSE what is vile to the Lord. We know that this is not "our best life now," but we as believers still come out and stand on God's Word! What happened to having righteous anger? Yes, it is Right to come out against anyone who denies God's Word. Even it is the president. And, even if you, the accuser, have been married a few times.

What IS your point Rick?

Anonymous,
Read 1 Corinthians 7:10-15. The scriptural guidelines for believers isn't in favor of divorce no matter what some people have done. And if a believer does divorce they are to remain unmarried. If a couple marries while both being unbelievers (a believer is not to marry an unbeliever) and one becomes a believer and the other divorces, only under those circumstances is a believer scripturally allowed to remarry.
We are to confront professing believers who are living lifestyles that aren't scriptural. We aren't to judge unbelievers for they are judged already.

There's so much chatter these days on morals. The media brings this up because this is an election year. They provoke viewers to give opinions and make judgments on the candidate's moral views.

What's reality is that morals were never any better 10, 20 years ago, under different political administrations. All the vices named in the bible were on display in the US, and no less than today.

What's different is that a darker-skinned President is in charge. All of a sudden, there are voices in the christian community that are indignant and judgmental on the moral sins of America. When President Bush was in charge, there was no attack on him, blaming him, when scandals broke out, as there should not be. The porn industry was booming, women still chose to have abortions, the divorce rate was hitting an all-time high, and homosexuals were living with their lifetime partners. Nothing has changed today.

What is the reason that so much heated debate is happening now on this issue? Media, of course, is party to blame, as they ratchet up these issues for ratings. The church seems to have lost all sense and reasoning and have jumped into the "fight" with fists ready to fight; they are contentious now more than ever before. Why is that?

There is a mind-view in the church that if one nation promotes the sin of homosexuality, that the nation will be under the wrath of God. Under the New Testament, the new law, Jesus didn't come to condemn the world, but to save it. With so many nations supporting equal rights or non-biblical positions on marriage and traditional 'values', why haven't they been specifically targeted by God? Thank the Lord that they haven't, but, that is because His mercy endureth forever, not because one community of believers are sinless.

Bestiality is an abomination to God. Yet, some states in the US have mandated it against the law to practice bestiality. Why hasn't there been a christian blast on this practice? If bestiality has been going on and lawmakers were compelled to make it a crime, where are the christian judges in declaring that breakers of this law are 'shaking their fist at God'? Why do they just pick one practice as being the 'sin' as conducive to thunder and lightning wrath?

There's something amiss lately in how political ideas are being idolized by christians as a form of righteousness, or a form of Godliness, where the Bible teaches from such, turn away.

The people (even professing believers, which does not mean they have been born of His Spirit) do not stop to consider that the media are servants of the 'god of this age, 2Cor4:4.

Believers, since this world is not our home, John 18:36, should not have 'opinions' and 'make judgments on candidates moral views'. Their (those of this world) 'moral' views are contrary to the Law of God. The media is encouraging the masses to be moral according to the standards of 'self' righteousness. The world is antichrist. There can't be true righteousness without Christ Jesus Who is True Righteousness.

As you say, "having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people." 2Tim 3:5

All nations are under the wrath of God, Isaiah 40:17. People here in the U.S. believe that we are somehow being blessed by God with physical blessings because we are more righteous than other nations on earth. Truly, these physical blessings are at the same time, a curse. These 'blessings' are temporal. The people are suffering judgment right now, having been judged sinners already. They don't want Truth, they are being deceived into thinking these 'blessings' are True.

2Peter 2:10
But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Romans 13:1

The media is distracting believers to get their minds and hope on the political system of the world which is anti-christ.

What Caesar are professing believers wanting in office? The lesser of two evils is still a compromise to the Lord.

They do NOT want THE truth.

Nice to see some waking up to all this but I have a question. What if some one is on their marriage and then finds Jesus?? Are they still disqualified from everything??

I personally do not believe former sins should be carried over after conversion.

Psalm 103:12,13

As far as the east is from the west,So far has He removed our transgressions from us.Just as a father has compassion on his children,So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.

Hebrews 9:26 Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
