WICKED IDOLATRY
READ THIS FIRST
In the ever growing pantheon of Christian celebrities and the self serving conferences here is one of which I was unfamiliar. Here is David Jeremiah who many consider a good teacher and orthodox but as you can read held a “celebration” of the publishing of his own “Jeremiah Study Bible”. It was quite a gala which included music and even an appearance by Donald Trump. And even though Jeremiah’s church and home is in California this event was held in Madison Square Garden in New York City. It is obvious why this place was chosen.
A
survey of his speaking schedule is filled with cruises, Holy Land tours, and
many “nights with David Jeremiah” around the country. Almost anyone who pays for a Christian
television spot can gain a following after a while. And Mr. Jeremiah also was a
guest on TBN to help raise funds. He may be a Bible teacher but he is a
compromiser and a wealthy American patriot.
But
this kind of idolatry where you use God’s Word with your name attached as a
drawing card is an abomination. How can people approach the Word with frivolity
and irreverence and especially celebrating one man’s interpretation as if it
were the tablets of stone come down from heaven? And if you will notice that
some people received a free copy of Jeremiah’s Bible DEPENDING ON THE PRICE OF
THEIR SEATS. The cheapest seats were $25 and the ones that were $50 received a copy of Jeremiah's Bible as if they were a door prize. Again, an abomination to be sure.
The
church has sunk so low that now the Bible is a marketing tool and the scribbling
between the words can be fashioned into a “study Bible” and sold to the masses.
It is the zenith of spiritual treachery and resembled the money changers where
Jesus scourged the Temple. Many well known preachers peddle their own version
of the Bible complete with THEIR NAME RIGHT ON THE COVER. This kind of Joseph
Smith-esque idolatry probably indicates the very soon coming of the Lord.
This is
no small issue. Even men with orthodox pedigrees and statements of faith have
become entrepreneurs who have marketing agents and plan events that include peddling
their brand of Christian trinkets. This is no different than the Joel Osteen events
or even any secular rock concert or stand up comedian tour. It rakes in the
money and on Jeremiah’s website he promises to show the event because of course
they filmed the entire thing so they can SELL BIBLES later on their wicked
television golden goose.
The
church is a disgrace to Christ and His Word, and when Donald Trump is your “special
guest” you have become a stumbling block to the gospel and you are supremely interested
in selling your special Bibles. It is spiritual treason of the highest order
when you use the Bible for monetary gain and even place your own name on it as
if you had Joseph Smith’s special glasses to interpret God’s Word. The church
has created a ruling class of Biblical scholars and the ecclesiastical Bourgeoisie
disseminate their knowledge to the proletariat from high atop Mt. Olympus. And the people love to
have it so.
If this
raises a lot of money watch for more preachers to put out their own Bibles.
Today we have the Jimmy Swaggart Bible, the John MacArthur Bible, the Max
Lucado Bible, the Schofield Bible, the Ryrie Bible, the Dake Bible, the Joyce
Meyers Bible, the C. S. Lewis Bible, the Henry Morris Bible, and many, many
more who added their name to God’s Word and profited by their sale.
God
will not wink at such sins against His Holy Word.
Very scary stuff.
ReplyDeleteThere was a report recently on a news channel that strange sounds are being noticed by people around the world, and a dozen or so have recorded these haunting sounds, one of which came from the World Trade Center replacement building on the Twin Towers. When listening to it, (whether it's a hoax or not, I don't know), but it sounds like eerie, like a chorus of low voices humming. A clip from this site also showed a baseball game sport's announcer heard it happening during a game, and said 'this sounds supernatural".
Supposedly, authorities are perplexed and can't explain the sounds, and have pretty much ruled out wind or natural attributes to them.

I used Jeremiah 10 for another blog comment I wrote, but the last part of it works here too.
ReplyDeleteJeremiah 10:20-25
20 My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
21 For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the Lord: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.
22 Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
23 O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
24 O Lord, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
25 Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.
Judgement is coming. I'm trembling and pray for mercy. I wonder if other like Dr. Jeremiah will tremble? He seems to have forgotten the Word of God.
Luke 12:48
But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
I fear for him. I pray he repents.

I did not know C.S. Lewis had a bible of his own. Now I know why my son Jeff thinks the Bible is just another fairy tale. He likes the books by CS Lewis. How terrible is this? The Joy I had is now diminishing knowing this.
ReplyDeleteI read that CS Lewis was a Catholic with reformed theological views. Kind of a mishmash of theology don't you think.
I was also told that the lord of the rings is akin to the bible but written like it was WWII. I bought into this for a while; Thank you God for opening my eyes. Please open Jeff and Cory's eyes too Lord, as well as others who are being deceived.
Yes, Pastor Rick, the return of the Lord Jesus Christ is very soon. Thank you God.
your sister in Christ Jesus,
Cherie c.
Jesus was beaten, nailed to a cross giving His life so that we could have everlasting life with Him. And then God had men write done the account of it all. Did any of the men that listened to the Spirit tell God that they should have been paid very well for what they were doing?
ReplyDeleteIt does not cost me anything but whole hearted devotion to Jesus and time in prayer asking the Holy Spirit to reveal what is hidden in the scriptures as I am reading them.
Only in America.

ReplyDeleteSme of those people mentioned are very diligent in endeavouring to teach truth. Let's let God decide on the matter and retreat from the role of judge.
Perhaps, the "church" the world now sees is the false ekklesia for which Christ has called us out of? (Rev. 17 & 18) The false will continue to march forward in their wicked and the Lord will continue to call upon repentance of such repugnance. Let us continue to call out the false and point to the Truth until the day of our departure or His return!
ReplyDelete"Perhaps, the "church" the world now sees is the false..."
ReplyDeleteI completely agree...Not to many people come forward and proclaim this due to its unpopularity.
The good Doctor was also on the Jim Bakker home shopping show the other day hawking his new so called study bible. Seeing him on Bakkers show says it all as far as I am concerned.
ReplyDeleteLet us not forget the biggest golden calf of all - the Chuck Smith Study Bible!
ReplyDeleteBoth he and David Jeremiah are apostate wolves leading the sheep down the emergent path to the one world religion. David Jeremiah's church even has an eye of horus on a pyramid (shadow mountain church?!?) -an occult symbol- and if you look closely enough you can see an upside down cross in the pupil of the eye diagonally.
Just google their name, a heretical issue, hit enter and duck for the avalanche!
What has Christianity become here in the land of abundance? Such a post grieves my heart albeit true. We now have what is called "Bible studies" in many a church, and the Word is rarely opened, studied, and meditated upon in context, asking God, the Holy Spirit to teach and guide, let alone genuine prayer for one another.
ReplyDeletePastor Rick, it is a sad day when men and women choose to elevate their names alongside, and in many cases, above Jesus Christ, in promoting themselves. Man as a whole has not strayed far from the Garden of Eden when man chose to "become like God," for many say "I have no sin," or "I do not struggle with sin." With this ever increasing hardening of the heart and seering of the conscience within our church system, where the worship of the "self" has now embodied "the false body," it may very well be possible the emminent return of our LORD Jesus Christ is near. Only our Father knows the time.
More and more, I truly believe if our LORD Jesus Christ came to preach and teach in our churches, we may very well be all the more fierce in crucifying Him all over again as we would hate what He would say to us.
I beg for forgiveness for what I have made our precious Jesus out to be...He did not suffer, die, and rise again to make me healthy, wealthy, prosperous, or even popular. Jesus' blood was shed for my sins so that I may gain eternal life with Him.
The Glory of our LORD will be shared wtih no man.
Thanks for this confirmation !
ReplyDeleteI recently had to shop for a Bible, and was shocked at all the "Superstar Preacher" versions out there (with the superstar's INTERPRETATION of a scripture helpfully printed on the same page as God's Own Word)!!
I blogged about this devilish HUBRIS a few days ago (http://cross-purposes.blogspot.com/)...and today see your comments on the same spiritual madness. It strongly confirms to me that God is speaking to us all against this great mis-leading of the Church.
In Jesus, Steve
I feel so sorry for each and everyone of you. Our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, has gifted few people in our world to have the power to reach a mass audience to be saved through the power of teaching. Dr. David Jeremiah is a holy and Godly man who life mission is to see each and every person in this world to be saved through the precious blood of Jesus. How is he wrong to compose a bible that has notes, and additional material a novice reader can grow in their walk with The Lord? As a believer, I grow through the teachings of wonderful individuals who shed insight into the bible that I did not realize. That is why God has inscribe them the gift of teachings. We are commanded not to judge but you proclaim to be Christians and bash others who are trying to bring others to be saved? Please re think your stance.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above post. What David Jerimiah is doing is what many evangelists before him have done and are doing. Like Billy Graham and Franklin Graham, Dr. Jerimiah is working hard to bring the message of Christ to thousands of people. He stands firm in his belief that the Bible is the true Word of God. He does not water down the gospel, and he does not subscribe to the new, trendy doctrine of tolerance. I feel your blog and this post are hindering the work of God. Publishing a study bible is not wrong. It is similar to a preacher who preaches the word from the pulpit and gives application to it.
