Preparing the Heart

PREPARING THE HEART

Some of my FB friends read the blog articles I post here on Following Judah’s Lion. And those who do along with the small band of blog readers know that I am begging the Lord to do something special in all of us for His glory in this coming year. I am currently working on a post which begins with these verses. And before I finish the post I would like all of us to really read all the verses I am posting here in preparation for this upcoming post. Read them daily if you can. Meditate upon them; inhale them; seek their depth; and embrace them as God’s breathed Word directly to you. Allow them to break up the fallow ground within your heart and allow the Spirit to cultivate that heartland in preparation for the eternal seed of God’s Word that will reap a harvest all to His glory.

Ps.27: Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.
(Please read all of Psalm 27)
Matt.6: 19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matt.6: 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

May the Lord multiply His Word in our hearts.

Dear Bro. Rick and friends here, I am so thankful for this blog. Just the thought that someone cares and Bro. Rick is begging the Lord to do something special in all of us for His glory in the coming year, gives me renewed hope and joy in my soul. Just to hear a brother say, by faith, that they are pressing in and believing for us all, makes a huge difference for me personally. Because there are times of doubt that I feel I can't do it alone, even with the Lord.

And it's not that the Lord can't do IT, but, it's me, among the weaker vessels, who need reassurance and encouragement and words of faith spoken to me, that gives me a boost. I believe that the Lord would just want to snap his fingers and do it all for us in an instant, but He wants us to rely on one another at times. It's important that we train our minds to carry those burdens for our brethren, despite our differences and arguments. If not us, who else, will lift each other up to the Lord in prayer?

Again, I'm hopeful for 2014 for "the Lord to do something special in all of us for His glory in the coming year".

    Amen!

    J.

    Dear J.
Besides Rick's post which are an encouragement to me, (and occasionally a gentle kick), your comments always give me a lift because I'm just one of the weaker vessels too who needs reassurance, and reading your comments just speaks to my heart.
Rick, your blog is truly a blessing to us. May God be glorified always!

    Dear Cherie c.

Love you too sister! We can be weaker vessels together in Jesus! The body is made up of different parts and we have our part in His Body. We all don't grow at the same rate.

Cherie c., you are so unpretentious and sincere. I value the things you say here. I often see in yours and others comments something I didn't realize/understand or think of.
You are a dear sister to us, and we need each other in this journey together.

    Glory to Him alone!
