Take a Moment!

TAKE A MOMENT!

What joy is there compared to the surpassing joy of knowing the Lord Jesus? Men have scoured the earth looking for something, anything that could satisfy their soul. I have tried many avenues and have found them nothing but vanishing mirages. Until one day the Spirit found His way into a darkened heart and revealed to me the glory of the Savior. Today I spent time with my brother who was used of God in my journey to faith in Jesus.
I was allowed the privilege of reliving those first days when I was enlightened and my life changed. I was a very, very bad and violent man. I sold drugs into the high school. But please understand something, I still have nothing good about me, and any and all goodness I have is Jesus. One day, one glorious day, I drank from the fountain of living water and I will never thirst again. Praise His Matchless Name, Jesus.

When have you revisited that sacred place and time where you first met the Lord Jesus? Perhaps you were saved when you were young, but later you had an awakening that changed everything. I exhort you to take a moment, a simple and deep moment, and allow the Spirit to bring to your heart those former days when Jesus became your life. Where would we be if not for Him! Halleluiah, once I was blind but now I see!!

  1. Oh, yes! Amazing grace. Most tender mercies. Thank You, Jesus, my Lord and my God!

    To borrow from Peter:
...though I have not seen Him, I love Him, and though I do not see Him now, but believe in Him, I greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible.... He saves me!

If not for the grace of Jesus I would still be as blind, lost and thirsty as I was through my entire life. To quote John 4:14-
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
All praise to the One and only Saviour, Jesus Christ!!

Listened to Romans 5 today and it made me cry.

Overwhelmed by the gift of Grace.

Nothing, nothing is worth more. No person, no trinket, no compliment, no earthly power, no riches; no other love is worth more than the Love gifted with Grace.

Has anyone really read Romans 5? Really read it? Well it revealed something to me I never knew before. Romans 5 talks about God's grace and the first Adam which ushered in sin and death, and the second Adam (Jesus) who conquered sin and death. Now that is not the part I am talking about. See below:

    Romans 5:12-16
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

What caught my eye was 14 and 15. There are some who did not sin between Adam and Moses? However they were still under death; they died.

We grow up in a world where there are so many advancements that take out any notion of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Like the idea is so ancient history. Until you read God's Word. How amazing that the Holy Spirit, through man, was able to cover all the things that they now say is over. The Bible is over. LOL, the Bible says that they would say that in the end times. Again, the sting of tears is coming to my eyes. Word elude me as to try to explain how this makes me feel. I am so tired after a long day, but I feel like I want to dance, and sing, and my heart is so full right now. All because I read Romans 5. I don't care if I sound ridiculous, I don't often have joy, so I covert it when I can.

This touches my heart in a way that leaves me speechless, lol I can still type.

Just wanted to share what I learned with someone today, and I hope it brings those who read this post as much joy as it has to me. Who am I that He thought of me? Overwhelming.

    your sister in Christ Jesus,

  5. Cherie - All have sinned. That verse indicates some did not sin by disobeying a direct command as in Adam's case, but they still sinned.

    Pastor Rick,

Oh, now I'm a bit confused. When I read the verse one of the people that came to mind was Seth. The others Noah, Abraham. They were subject to death, but I thought they were righteous in the sight of God? Thank you for correcting me. =D

    God Bless

  7. Righteous never means sinless. man has no righteousness of himself, it must be given to him by God. It is always by faith.
