Determinism
Determinism teaches that God orchestrates everything. All things happen at His very will.
Determinism paints a divine picture of an august deity who is self absorbed, and creates a race of dead puppets. Now this deity pulls the strings on a select few of his fallen marionettes, and without their own choice, makes them praise Him through the manipulation of his own power. And with the knowledge that God is literally praising Himself, he is pleased.
And voilĂ , you have determinism. Hollow, meaningless, and nothing more than a religious Muppets show.
Rick,
ReplyDeleteI am grateful and honored to be drawn to Christ by the Father, and a muppet in the greatest show orchestrated by the creator. It is beyond my limited comprehension, but I try to explain to some, I raised my children and know them reasonably well and know many of the decisions they will make by there own free will. YHWH our creator knows us better than we know ourselves, and nothing is a surprise to Him. Imagine, thousands of years in advance, the details of our Messiah's birth, where He moved to, the day and time of His death were known. What was not known? Our hearts as undeserving servants Luke 17:7-10, minus the pride of doing anything thats adds a feeling of deserving a bit of credit for helping God (the ark is falling 2 Samuel 6:1-7) is the genuine humbleness God wants. He doesn't need anything from us!
David
Rick,
ReplyDeleteI am not as gifted a writer as you, by far. This was an interesting blog I read recently that might be relevant to this subject http://defendingcontending.com/2011/12/06/for-whom-did-christ-die-the-simple-logic-of-limited-atonement/
Blessings,
David
Determinism is far different than knowing the future.
ReplyDeleteRick, I don't get what you are trying
ReplyDeleteto say. I know you would not deny
predestination...Ken
Foreknowledge first, then predestination. Never predetermination.
