God's Will - Free Will

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

Read those words carefully and see if you can see the fallacy of limited atonement, and how Jesus admits that the people in Jerusalem exercised their free will. Jesus says “I would (Jesus desired to save them)…but you wouldn’t” (They refused). In order to make that fit a reformed theology you must create some fancy linguistic manipulation that places your doctrine above the clear teaching of Scripture.

Rather than "free will", I now prefer to say "God given will".

God has given mankind enough freedom of choice to allow what He wants to be achieved.

And what does He want?

He wants a willing people who have freely chosen to follow Him. He does not want a people who follow Him against their will.

Therefore He has given mankind the freedom and ability to make that choice.

Those following theologies that deny mankind's ability to choose to follow God or not, need to ask themselves whether a sovereign God has the right and ability to give man that freedom.

If we do not have a God given will to either deny Him or follow Him, then we are not followers but merely marrionettes.

Exactly.

As I often put it:

God desires a willing bride for His Son.

He will not be giving Him a Stepford wife.
