I came across a blog that challenged other writers to write with the catch words "I am from" and God gave me this. The other blogger desires others to visit her blog and sign in or something, I am a blogger novice. But I hope this ministers to you and glorifies Christ regardless of the contest.
I Am From...
I am from the initial thought in the heart of the Archangel Lucifer. That first sinful moment carried with it the battle that continues to rage throughout Creation to this very day. That embryonic evil ignited a fire that will never be quenched and like the Olympic torch will culminate its journey in the lake of fire where it will burn the justice of Almighty God forever. I am from there.
I am from the plan and foreknowledge of the Father God who saw me before Lucifer fell. Oh yes, before I was fearfully and wonderfully made I was in the Father’s heart from eternity past. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and I was in the Word. Go ahead and trace my genealogy as far back as any written documents can reveal with all the names that change through birth and marriage, but you must transcend time and space before you will find my eternal name, In The Beloved. I am from there.
I am from the garden of Eden. My earthly father, Adam, took and ate of the fruit that my Heavenly Father had forbidden and with that act Adam brought sin into the world and specifically all his descendents which of course includes me. I was in that first rebellion and I have known and participated in the pleasures of that sin that were born through my father Adam. Through a thousand generations I have been translated all the way to today, but never forget I am from Adam.
I am from the ark. Through the loins of Noah I climbed into God’s provision and I was protected from the judgment from God Almighty. For forty days I was secure in the wooden house which foreshadowed a lonely image on a skull shaped hill which also absorbed the wrath of the Father. On the 27th day of the second month I climbed out of the ark and built an altar to the God of grace and mercy, and on that altar I offered a sacrifice. I am from that day.
I am from Mount Moriah. I walked up Mount Moriah with my father Abraham and he laid me on an altar and I watched as the knife was raised against me by my own father’s hand. I watched as my father released me and sacrificed a ram in my place. I remember my father telling me that God would provide a sacrifice for Himself. I walked down the hill from the experience that would be a looking glass into the future offering of the coming perfect Isaac through which I would one day escape again. I am from Mount Moriah.
I am from the Red Sea. I followed Moses as we ran from Pharaoh and I saw the edge of the great sea they called Red. As Moses raised his rod the Red Sea parted and I walked across on dry land. I turned to see the waters cover and drown the armies of Pharaoh as they pursued us. I stood still on that day and I saw the salvation of our God which delivered me without the strength of man but the power of “I AM”. I am from the parted Sea of Red.
I am from Nazareth. I was carried by Gabriel into a little room where a virgin named Mary lived. I was in God’s purpose and plan that was planted in Mary’s womb by the power of the Holy Spirit and blossomed nine months later in a straw scattered garden. Through that day my ancestry would one day change from my father Adam to my Father Jehovah. My promise arrived to this world on that majestic day and in Nazareth the foreknowledge of God became a reality for me two thousand years later. I am from Nazareth.
I am from Passover. One particular Passover day combined all the thousands of previous Passovers beginning with that first Egyptian night in which the death angel scoured the country seeking bloodless doorposts upon which to deposit the promise of death. And so death has searched out countless generations being only temporarily halted by the blood of bulls and goats, but has now been eternally stopped by the blood stained doorposts of Calvary which signal death’s defeat. I oozed from the divine veins of the Passover Lamb and as the ground turned scarlet I was delivered. On that day I was accepted in the Beloved and if you gaze on the crimson offering hanging dead on that Roman tree, I am from there.
I am from a new sepulcher. I was dead with this Passover Lamb for three days, just as I was crucified with and in Him. On the first day of the week He rose from the dead and I was there. The stone was rolled away and as the Risen Lamb walked out of that resting place for the dead I walked out also. I was risen with Christ and made alive by the Spirit of holiness on that resurrection day and I was among the first fruits. You will not see me with earthly eyes but with the eyes of the Spirit you will catch a glimpse of me in the very heart of my Lord and Savior. I am from the empty tomb.
I am from the coming celestial cavalry. As if it has already taken place God’s Prophetic Word is perfect and transcends time and space, it is yesterday, today, and forever done. Imagine an event in which the Lord Jesus, the Captain of Salvation, rides a majestic steed of perfect white and I am following behind dressed in His righteous robe riding a shining steed of grace. And as the Lion of Judah’s Tribe returns to Lord over His creation I am there as a joint heir of His victory. I am not going to be from there but, by faith, I am already from there.
I am from the Celestial City. Do not ever think that this world is my home, no, I’m from the Celestial City. I’m not of this world and my life is hid with Christ in God far away from this accursed place of constant rebellion. Gates of pearl, streets of gold, and countless other divine accoutrements decorate the place that I call home and they all glorify the Person of the Son of God. I fall on knees of worship along with throngs of other blood bought sons of the Most High God and glorify the Worthy Lamb. I am from the Celestial City forever.
So before the creation, to the culmination of all things…
I am from God.
