A Muslim can read the Word but unless he is redeemed it will not benefit him at all.

The first sentence is correct. The second sentence is way off the mark, for it is God not man who decides who benefits from reading His word.

He is the holy One who has the say on the matter. The LORD doesn't wait until man is redeemed to benefit and bless him out of His word.

Josef SeftonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27942026.post-63834194830274158182013-12-17T16:00:45.056-05:002013-12-17T16:00:45.056-05:00Brcorcoran at his very best!! Dear re...Brcorcoran at his very best!! Top notch!!

Dear readers, the entire Godhead is love.
1 John 4:8 is a very powerful verse in the Bible that teaches us that he that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love!

I find it helpful to link the 1 Corinthians 13 passage to 1John 4:8, Mathew 22:36-40, John 3:16, 2 Timothy 3:16 and John 19:28-30.

Let's rejoice for God is so good! Truly God is love and our thankfulness, praise and worship in spirit and truth is for Christ, God's Beloved Son and His atoning, perfect, finished work.

Behold what manner of pure love was in Our sinless Savior! We worship a Savior who is risen. We worship a Savior who is coming again to earth. We worship a Savior who is Immanuel, God with us!

Enjoy your Bible studies and fellowship with the LORD and especially true believers.

Josef SeftonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27942026.post-45284123803145850692013-12-17T12:21:08.178-05:002013-12-17T12:21:08.178-05:00Heard a phrase the other day brother,

Your post on what Truth means in our lives starts exactly where God starts it: Jesus.

I often find Derek Prince' teaching on "Agreeing With God" is a touchstone for my walk ("can two walk together except they be agreed ?"). One point he makes there is that we must agree in God's thoughts, and His WAYS of thought (Isaiah 55:8).

Definitions is one, underlying everything else about our ways of thought. How could we possibly think as God does about sin, for example, if we have a false idea what sin IS ?

So I receive the thoughts of this post into my heart with JOY, recognizing in it God's Own definition: as He Himself testified, Jesus is "The Truth."

Thank you, and blessings, beloved brother !

In Jesus, Steve
Stevenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27942026.post-1105649592229349652013-12-17T08:06:20.708-05:002013-12-17T08:06:20.708-05:00Double "thumbs up"!
I spent most of my ...Double "thumbs up"!

I spent most of my Christian walk (unknowingly) in "legalism", a powerful blinding walk of self-righteousness...

Speaking of myself, until I learned that the bible is designed to correct "me" and not a tool to "judge" others, I walked as one separated from others with a "I am he that walks among thee" perspective...

We know the Word of God is "Profitable" for correction, reproof, instruction and doctrine, to "unlearn" the Adam nature we all inherited...

Once I take the "cord of wood" out of my own eye, I can help (through love) another take the splinter out of his...

It all boils down to 1 Corinthians 13 doesn't it, We are called to "imitate" our Heavenly Father and He is Agape...

As the Father sent Jesus so He sends us, not to condemn the world but to save it, and to have a fervent love for the Body of Christ...

Self-Righteousness and legalism, a Christian's worst enemies...

1 Corinthians 13 in the Amplified helps me stay focused -

If I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God’s love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

And if I have prophetic powers (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God’s love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody.

Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or in order that I may glory, but have not love (God’s love in me), I gain nothing.

Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.

It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].

It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.

Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].

Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy(the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
