WHAT YOU DO
IS
WHAT YOU BELIEVE
The collection of writings known as the Bible is God’s
revelation to mankind. There is no other. It is inspired and is trustworthy for
all things pertaining to faith. They reveal the Person called Jesus and they
clearly lay out a path to eternal life which comes only by faith in Jesus the
Christ.
But as is the custom of man and his quest to feel
important and feel as though he is God’s right hand man, there is a clique
which not only claims that the Scriptures are inerrant in the original
manuscripts, but they even spend millions to have conferences where they plant
their flag in the ground together.
Books are sold, CDs are made of the speakers and sold,
and generally they revel in their own doctrine. If you are a part of that group
then you get all excited about standing for truth, and if you are not a part of
that group you wonder what in the world is going on. They quote a long line of
men who have been gone for centuries and suggest that they themselves are
carrying on their battle. But in the end all they are doing is defending their
doctrines. And in the very end what you do is what you believe. Everything else
is a ministry to the doctrinal flesh. I have written about such things here.
I refer you to one of these conferences. Watch the video
here.
This is a very fine line and must be understood as such.
It is easy to defend doctrines, but it most difficult to live like Jesus. There
is a vast gulf between the two. When you are an unwavering soldier of inerrancy
then you believe you are engaged in a spiritual war. You are God’s standard
bearer and in your mind you are doing His work. So you call expensive
conferences where those who already believe what you believe can revel in the
atmosphere of like minded doctrinal companions. It reinforces your position as
well as reinforces the doctrinal celebrity status of the speakers. They are
seen as the modern day oracles of God.
These kinds of conferences are considered the bastions of
orthodoxy and yet they are structured just like the liberal wings they detest. It
is alluring and enticing, but it is mostly of the flesh. These kinds of people
have God’s approved music, God’s approved doctrine, God’s approved service
structure, God’s approved attire, God’s approved Bible translations, and God’s
approved Scriptural interpretation. They can identify and unpack compromises
within other church groups but feel that they themselves stand upon God’s Word
and are only imperfect as is common to man. The hubris is palpable.
Is that the essence of Christianity? Is Christianity a
set of doctrines which must be defended or is it a faith built upon truth but
which seeks to think and act like Jesus? And is acting like Jesus completing an
orthodox doctrinal test? Truths are very important, but truth is not just what
is written in our doctrinal statements. The truth IS Jesus and those who desire
to embrace truth must follow Him in heart and life. How many believers place
their head on a pillow at night content with the knowledge that they are
doctrinally orthodox but completely unaware that many people who do not have
all the doctrinal badges they profess manifest the Spirit and the Person of
Jesus in ways some of those “orthodox” people do not? Think about what I just
wrote.
This all boils down to just what is the faith that is
built upon Christ? Does humility have any place in a faith and life that
follows Jesus? Little by little self righteousness has been given a new and
acceptable moniker named “boldness”. So men and women who hold their specific
doctrines as divine as Joseph Smith’s tablets gather and stroke one another.
This is a carnal spectacle even while claiming to be the zenith of orthodoxy.
And when we hold our doctrines higher than our lives then we have entered into
idolatry regardless of how true and Biblical they may be. In the end what you
do and live is what you believe. And if you read the gospel narrative of the
life of Jesus it is much more than articulating what He did and who He was. It
requires your very life.
And since that is a colossal challenge that requires a
profound level of self denial it is much easier to hold a conference and
proclaim yourself a champion of God’s Word simply because your theology is
orthodox. Loudly proclaiming the Scriptures are inerrant is light years from
having your life reflect those same Scriptures in tangible and observable ways
which authenticate your theology without books and tapes and Cds and
conferences. So while you castigate the unbridled and emotional atmosphere of a
charismatic gathering you create the same atmosphere without many of the
observable signs. But make no mistake, the same spiritual hubris exists in both
gatherings.
In the end do people see Jesus in you or do they see an
orthodox theology about Jesus?

Your words, "there is a clique which not only claims that the Scriptures are inerrant in the original manuscripts"
So since we have none of the originals, how is one determining either side if they are actually inerrant or not?
How are you proving the originals, of which we have none, are flawed by your statement as well?
If they are falling short for lack of substantive proof, you have just done the same. You have none either.
The originals manuscripts penned by the Apostles themselves by inspiration of the Holy Spirit probably were inerrant, without flaw in any manner and you have no ability to prove otherwise because you have absolutely none to look at to determine that.
These morons you speak of do not make the claim the originals were inerrant in the manner that you claim. They make the claim what we have now in English is 'the inerrant Word of God' and the twisted doctrines they have made up themselves with their own little self-made definitions as well, and is vindicated by their prior assumption.
"But in the end all they are doing is defending their doctrines."
Okay, and what are you defending? Are they not YOUR doctrines as opposed to theirs? You may protest, well, my opinion is based on TRUTH. Really? So, with no original manuscripts and even if they existed they would not be inerrant according to your post, then what makes your opinion worth anything either?
Not exactly a fully thought out post.
James 1:22-25
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
May we have the humility to follow Christ in our daily lives and forsake pride.
Thank you, Mike W for posting those powerful verses fom James 1:22-25!
The teaching is very clear: if we make the error of not putting into practise what we hear from God's word we will fail to be blessed. If we think that hearing or reading God's word is enough we are deceiving ourselves.
God warns us that if we limit ourselves to just hearing or reading His word we will "forget" it. It is imperative that we persevere in endeavoring to demonstrate what we read out of the Holy Bible.
For example it's not enough to hear or read that we should love our neighbor as ourself. What should we do? We should start willingly demonstrating our intention to do this!
O yes, may the Lord of life bless us with increased humility, so that we can follow Christ in His power more attentively. Dear readers, make it your fervent prayer in 2014 to be a doer of God's word!

What we do have is the Living God who is Eternal, Everlasting, Immutable and never lies opening up our hearts and minds to the necessary Truth that causes us to read the Scriptures and History to have a sincere Faith and confidence the 66 Books of the Protestant Bible are just as living and active as God. These Words are more than just words on a page.
I sense the first comment above come from someone I'm comfortable accepting is the moron.
One of the greatest examples of God and the Word of His Grace in the annuls of History is Daniel chapter 11! There is among historical scholarship a period know as the inter-testimonial period, about 500 years of time between the last Old Testament writings and the beginning of the New Testament writings. The accuracy of the "words of Truth" recorded by Daniel after shown to him by an Angel is amazing! These truths about the events of history from the period of the Persian era to the beginning of Rome's Caesars and the birth and life of our Savior are so exact and accurate some have argued Daniel 11 cannot have written by Daniel so many centuries before.
No, the first commenter's comments, in my view reflect the heart of the scornful and should only be taken carefully mindful of what we have been warned about already, here:
2 Peter 3: 1 This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder,
2 that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles,
3 knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires.
"It is easy to defend doctrines. It is most difficult to live like Jesus." Amen!
"Take heee that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from me. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left and know what your right hand id doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly." Jesus speaking in Matthew 6:1-4 The chapter whole is equally amazing!
Oh, how we love these words from our Savior, who labels the sinful nature of man a "hypocrite." Wherefore does the name "hypocrite' egually apply to each and every one of us as we journey this road of faith together? We must approach our LORD in honesty to the conditions of our own hearts when comparing ourselves to others, believers and non-believers alike. There are times, more often than not, that we have seen unbelievers exhibit more godly fruit than those who profess to know Christ intimately. It is a shame and Jesus called them out......he outed the hypocrites time and again as they lurked within the religious systems of His day.
So what has become of us? Is the church system here in the wast really any different than the hypocrites of Jesus' day as we make rulers of ourselves, sppointing judges of ourselves, serving others and bragging and boasting of the wonders of ourselves, complimenting ourselves, and insulting and diminishing others in elevating ourselves?
Yes, the Joyce Meyers, Kenneth Copelands, Joel Osteens, Jack Hayfords, Mike Bickles, Bill Johnsons, etc., etc., etc., etc., the wolf packs are legion, have done well here in America in brainwashing and indoctrinating the masses to the "self god" theology. I grieve to no end what Christianity has become in our nation, for I did not grow up hearing such blasphemies in a small isolated environment. Praise our LORD for that small fellowship!
And Jesus still stands outside the door, waiting ever so patiently to be invited into His temples. LORD, I repent, please forgive me, for I will still strive to serve You without the applause of man. It is because of You that I live. Amen.
By the preservation of God, we have more than 5,300 Greek manuscripts from the New Testament still in existence today. As the New King James preface states regarding these Greek texts that underly our English translations, they are
"85 percent in agreement with each other" and the remaining 15 percent, according to other experts, being almost all minor variants in areas like the spelling of places and names etc. The NKJV preface goes on to state "there is more manuscript evidence for the NT than any other body of ancient literature. "
In fact, Norman Geisler, the author of From God to Us Moody Press, 1974, page 180, quotes Westcott and Hort, Ezra Abbot, Philip Schaffer, and A.T. Robertson's as concluding that the integrity of the ancient manuscripts of the "New Testament text is over 99 percent pure"!
Since we are, according to Romans 12:2, to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, how does this transformation take place unless we are exposed to sound doctrine/sound teaching?
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world:but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
2 Timothy 4:1
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2 Timothy 4:4
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
They will not endure sound doctrine/sound teaching, so this means we can have sound teaching/sound doctrine.
John 8:31
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
So 99% is inerrant? Kelli, you belong to the group to whom my post refers.
And what "group" do I belong to?
What "group" do you belong to Pastor Rick?
I belong to the ek cathedra group!
I don't belong to the from the chair group! Flee from Catholicism, for it is built on lies!
What does the Bible teach? Proverbs 30:5
5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Josef Sefton
This is so true Pastor Rick. How we choose to live our lives here on this earth is the essence of our belief system which stems from the heart. There are only two roads to choose from, the one being Jesus Christ and His Way or the path to eternal damnation which is satan's. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LORD.
God, search our hearts this day and every day, for the pure heart needs not boast of its purity.
for those of us not well versed in languages, Please translate:
ek cathedra
????
Thank you.
your sister in Christ Jesus
As Joseph said it literally means "out of the chair" in Latin. But it refers to the infallibility of the Pope. When he speaks "ek cathedra" he is infallible. Of course that is false, but my comment was a joke.
Romans 7:19
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do
I suppose Paul belongs to those refered to in your post. Certainly I'm in there as well then. Are you in that group as well Rick?
I'm so sorry, LOLOLOLOLOL
Out of the chair? Still laughing.
Is that like the over the hill gang? Sorry, too funny.
I thought it meant something really important. I didn't know. I failed Latin in catholic school.
"In the end what you do and live is what you believe...It requires your very life."
That says it all. AMEN !!
In Jesus, Steve
Let's warn our fellowman about the lies of Catholicism, and not just because they think they can usurp God's position and dispense sainthoods.
Dear readers, man doesn't decide who becomes a saint. Only the LORD can decide that blessed privilege.
Dear readers, come out of Catholicism, for they are a law under themselves.
Nothing about Catholicism is a laughing matter. I believe it's the headquarters of Babylon. Can any instituition be built on more lîes than corrupt Catholicism?
Their leader rises from his chair and claims, without error, to represent the King of Kings.
Worldwide around about 1.1 billion people mistakenly follow these man-appointed leaders.
God's word to those ensnared by corrupt Catholicism is come out of her!
God bless you!
Josef Sefton
God's word to year, dear readers, is not to be conformed to this world. Do you know that God can transform His creation?
His word to you is be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Christians, what must we do? We must preach the word, the Holy Bible, reproving, rebuking, and exhorting those we preach to with all longsuffering.
What must you do? Make it your prayer in 2014 to preach His word!
Josef Sefton
Many call the Roman church the "Mother of Harlots"...in other words the mother gave birth to other organized religions...
Is it possible the harlots are, lutheran, methodist, baptist, pentecost and so forth...all denominations that are "isms"...is it possible the organized name itself are the blasphemous names?...there is only one true church (born again saints)...
And now, her daughters are being wooed back to the mother under the ecumenical-ism movement, another "ism"...
I don't believe any one denomination is better than another...
Unless one is born again, it doesn't matter what banner we carry...
Baptized into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit, one body, with faith, one Lord...
I don't know why/how the subject of Catholicism entered into the discussion of sound doctrine/sound teaching. According to Romans 12:2 we (born again believers) are to be transformed by the renewal of our minds. In order for the one born again of His Spirit to be transformed we must be under sound doctrine/sound teaching.
He must change our minds so our decision making process lines up with Him and we see things from His perspective. Then our decisions will based upon His Word not out of human effort but from out of a changed mind.
What may I ask is wrong with sound doctrine/sound teaching?
Kelli, sound teaching is always praiseworthy. Both the saved and unsaved can benefit from sound teaching. We should rejoice when the Bible is being esteemed. The errors of Catholicism are so glaring that they must be pointed out. Let's stop joking about this serious topic, for that type of thinking dishonors God!
Josef Sefton
Sound teaching without emulating Jesus and those same teachings are unproductive. And let us include love and mercy and compassion and humility and ministering to the poor and self denial in the sound teaching list.
Amen. Sound teaching and a love for Jesus are inseparable.
Amen. We must desire to become more loving, merciful, compassionate and humble. Let's all heed the Lord's call to self denial and truly follow Him by ministering to the poor.
Josef Sefton
Telling a poor person the Gospel and walking away while they dumpster dive is not doing what you believe. Let us be clear on what ministering to the poor is supposed to be. The Word is clear on this.
So if we have doctrine, but do not show love,we are wasting time and misusing the Word. I think that is what this post is saying. What is doctrine without the commandment given to us by Jesus;
love they neighbor as thy self. Preaching God and being like Jesus is the best way to minister to anyone, especially the poor.
your sister in Christ Jesus
Rick: Sound teaching without emulating Jesus and those same teachings are unproductive. And let us include love and mercy and compassion and humility and ministering to the poor and self denial in the sound teaching list.
Kelli: The first commandment is to deny/reject yourself and follow Him. How do we emulate The Lord when we are called to reject ourselves? Where does it say we are to emulate Christ when Christ is the head of the body?
Sound teaching without emulating Jesus and those same teaching are unproductive? Unproductive? The Spirit of the Living God indwells a believer and there is no fruit or no activity? There is activity going on in a born again believer as it is God working in us.:
Philippians 2:12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:13
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Once we are saved we are sanctified (set apart) for His purposes. We are living vessels for His Spirit to move in and through us as He wills. Our number 1 priority is to be growing in the grace and knowledge of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
How do you separate doctrine from the love of Christ? It is His Spirit that gives a love for the Truth and we will worship Him in Spirit and Truth. A born again believer has His Spirit and bears the fruit of His Spirit.
Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Fruit of His Spirit, Love rejoices in Truth, 1 Cor 13:6, 2 Thessalonians 2:10, 1 Peter 1:22
His love in us gives the motivation to love Him and love for the Truth
Agape Love in the believer seeks the Truth by putting all things to the test.
Poor in spirit:
Those whom the Lord has revealed, through the Holy Spirit, their destitute, lost, hopeless sin condition. They are poor "in spirit". This is not speaking of one who is in a physically, monetarily poor state.
Notice from Matthew 5:3, they (the one whom recognizes their spiritually destitute condition) are the ones who will inherit the kingdom of God.
You are an arguer Kelli. I will not post anymore of your corrective comments. You consistently place yourself in an elder's role. Find another blog in which to teach them the right way.
Yes, the poor in spirit are those whom the Lord has revealed, through the Holy Spirit, their destitute, lost, hopeless, sinful condition.
They can also be in a physically, monetarily poor state when this happens.
The Bible teaches that Lord Jesus Christ is Savior. It is God's decision. Let's leave the giving of His gracious, loving gift in His hands!
The Pharisees and scribes knew the word (old testament) better than all of us I would imagine, sound in doctrine and teachings, yet Jesus said they were of their father the devil...that their hearts were far from God...
Legalism - may be the worst testimony the world sees concerning Christianity...
Rick said: Sound teaching without emulating Jesus and those same teachings are unproductive. And let us include love and mercy and compassion and humility and ministering to the poor and self denial in the sound teaching list.
Amen!!
Imitate God and love as Christ loved us...Ephesians 5:1-2
When someone is unsaved as many of the Pharisees were that means they didn't know the word as true believers do! A Christian knows God, whereas a non Christian doesn't. The teaching of the Pharisees was unsound. God points out their errors on numerous occassions.
Josef Sefton
@Josef
You're missing the point...the Pharisees obviously knew the word...
Leaven, just a bit leavens the entire lump...
It's not enough to know the word...
The Pharisees were self-righteous, outward ceremonial, religious and traditional...their hearts were far from what the purpose of the word is...
That's what Jesus told his followers to beware of, their doctrine, not the doctrine of the word...
A Christian can get rapped up in the same stuff as the Pharisees even though saved...that's why all the epistles from Apostle Paul have "correction" in them...correction, instruction and reproof are good things...
Blessings
In this world, it is far easier to be corrected by an individual/group who love Jesus with all of their heart, mind, and soul/spirit for you know the Spirit from which it comes. Their very existance gives Jesus the preeminance in their lives and their very character/life choices reflect that LORDSHIP of CHRIST in their lives. It is blatantly obvious and correction/warning is easily received as God is Glorified, not the stroking of man's narcissism.
When we see these unfruitful characteristics manifesting within those who call themselve Christians, "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come; For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." 2 Timothy 3:17
or
Galations 5:18-26 "But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruits of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self, control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another."
....it is very difficut to receive godly correction and criticism when the flesh has taken over man's spirit. It is grieviously painful to be correctedcriticized by someone who manifests the sins listed above without any remorse/repentance all the while pointing out the "sins" or your being.

At the end of the day Pastor Rick,
it really hurts, no, it truly breaks my soul, my very extistance, to being
beaten up by church people; falsely accused, lied about, slandered, and my character
murdered/crucified in a church community who claim to love Jesus.
Yes, these people claim to love Jesus! Pray tell, what Jesus is the Christian community following these days for when I read my Bible, I see Jesus forgiving me of my sins, telling me, "Go, and sin no more" and desiring me with a love like no earthly love, telling me to "Follow Me(Jesus)."
Please forgive me saints, if I am exhibiting too harsh a comment here, for I am devastated before my LORD.
I sit in church and feel the pride swelling up in my bones and marrow over the messages delivered on Sunday mornings listening to the pastor blast homosexuals out of the water, with my shogun mouth yelling "Alleluia and Amen brother!" I sit at what are called Bible studies, discussing the Scriptures for all but five minutes, then engaging in the juicy morsels of gossipping, talebearing, whispering about this one and that one in our community; of which as I have discovered are mostly slander and lies......we 'christisn?' women then become a part of the wickedness, not the prayerful followers of Jesus seeking restoration in the lives of others. Oh, but I can brag and boast to others in my community, displaying the arm badge of righteousness because I am involved in a Bible study. I would love to be a part of a Bible study in which the Bible is actually studied, a safe place where we can share one another's burdens and genuinely love and pray for one another, a place where the foundational Rock is Jesus and we have that confidence in knowing that we can safely confess our sins to one another, seek forgiveness, and move on in the strength of God, the Holy Spirit. Instead, Godly character in not practiced in church systems of today, and the confidence and sharing, the fellowship and prayer, the genuine love comes from those outside the church building. For you see, one can attend church every Sunday, and do all of the right things according to the authoritarian pastor/leadership system, be noted praiseworthy for you give "more money" than most and leadership loves that; be loved by the women because you love the gossip and the high school antics/drama that are embraced by most, wear the fanciest syles of our day and spend hundreds on our hair, make-up, jewelry, etc.; and flatter this one and that one with flattering words because the next congregational meeting is coming up and you desire a position of leadership, basically to sugar feed your own ego.........
and yet, know that Jesus does not live in this building made with human hands. The love the saints once had for Christ alone, has turned into a smorgasboard of the flesh. And it reeks of the rot of pride.
I would love, Pastor Rick, to be involved in a truly God honoring, Jesus following fellowship, where the saints truly love one another and edify one another, seeking the other's good above their own. I grew up in a fellowship such as this so I know what it looks like, but now in my adult life, I cannot find such a fellowship. It is like "something strange happened on the way to the forum."
I believe, as it happened unexpectedly, that I have discovered godly fellowship in and through this blog and a few other ministries who love Jesus as their own. I am blessed with a few trustworthy friends that I can confide in, trust with my life as I know they will always "watch my back", and most importantly, ask for prayer when the days become tough, for these few people are the true Body of Christ.
There is a song of my youth in which we sang often; a few words if you please, "And they will know we are Christians by our love, by our love, and they know we are Christians by our love, by our love......"

Let the word correct...
2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness...
There are many groups that have fallen to "legalism"...
I fled from those that believe I am only right-standing with God according to their works and interpretation...
Sounds like you belong to an abusive organization...
One that holds people under bondage...
Sad, but many who claim to be the "conservative watch dogs" for the kingdom of God give it a bad name...
"He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels." Revelation 3:5
Strong, powerful words from Jesus, our Savior, our LORD.
So all the while men seek out their spiritually elite subterfuge in blotting out the names of those they deem as unworthy, here on this earth, I am reminded of our Father's glorious promise through His Son, our Savior,
my Savior,
that no man nor woman could never wield the sword in carving out my name in the Book of Life.
Jesus, Himself hath said, "I wiil confess his/your/my name before My Father and befor His angels."
Pray tell, who cannot be, but completely humbled and beyond broken, in knowing the fulfilment of this promise at the time of Jesus Second coming?
Thank-you, oh thank-you LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, for Your wise counsel, for your genteel corrections, and for the greatest love ever known to mankind through Your Son, our Savior and our Redeemer, Jesus, the Christ. There was, and never has been, nor will ever be,
no greater love than that of our precious Jesus.
Receive us O LORD.
Yes, brcorcoran, how did you know?
How did know this "church" is conservative and republicans live there, most of which claim "Jesus was and is a conservative."?
And the flag is waived proudly, our military men and women are praised/sometimes worshipped on given Sunday mornings, and the conversations consist of complaining of President Obama? How do you know these things?
Do you also know brcorcoran, that when God, the Holy Spirit, shows you the truth as to Who Jesus really is (not a Replican nor a Democrat and neither a liberal nor a conservative), and you begin a metamorphasis in worming your way out of this geopolitical/religious belief system, well then, you might as well begin packing your bags and head for the door before you step on their "conservative" mine field.
I saw a young man wearing a T-shirt yesterday in the grocery store parking lot and I quote, "If you are not a GOP, then you are a dumba__. (with a visual of a dilapited donkey)
Yes, most ashamedly, I used to be donating member of that political party.
I am sorry folks, for this morning is a struggle and there are times when I just cannot help but reveal the grief that embodies my soul. May Jesus have mercy upon me, His seeking child.
Mathew 22:29
Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Thee truth is that the Pharisees didn't know the power of God. They certainly didn't "know" the scriptures. They erred because they were unsaved as all unsaved people do.

Stay Strong Bro...I'm going through the same thing...when you tell people not to mix politics and religion, hang on...
Many believe the U.S. Constitution over the Word of God...
But you are doing nothing wrong...these are hard times to bear...
I'm not anti-government by any means...I ask God to give the President wisdom, knowledge and understanding, that God will do what is correct to bring people to Christ, not necessarily make things easier...
And you are correct...God is not a conservative nor liberal, republican nor a tea party member...
I engage in the same thing up here in New York...
Stay strong in the Word Bro!...You're not alone...
That is the key. Desire to stay strong in the Word. Don't volunteer to allow yourself to become sidetracked and drained. We serve a mighty God. Don't beat yourself up because multitudes lack wisdom.Desire to bring them the truth but refuse to give yourself a stomach ulcer or worse because they choose stubbornly to trust in man.
