From Our Dear Sister Jackie

FROM OUR DEAR SISTER JACKIE
(Thank you all for praying for jackie. Here is an update.)

Dear Bro. Rick;  First, I want to thank you for the prayers you offered
on your blog for me.   I appreciate you all and am feeling that back-up
of prayer because I am amazed at what God is doing in my 'fear'
department; He has kept me like in Psalm 23.

I also want to share something weird.   This morning, I get up, husband
is at work, and a robin is flying into my window over our front door,
every 5 minutes. It's not just once, but every few minutes, 'bang!' - I
think it's trying to set up a nest, but in the meantime, crows, and
these crowned birds with red necks and heads (beautiful) are all having
some 'war' on my roof windows and all the trees.    What the heck is
going on?    And, I'm in the middle of making surgery arrangements and
have to call my doctor today, well, our phones don't work.   I call out
and soon the line breaks up. These are one of those days.     I half
expect to see wonders in the sky at any moment; it's kind of like I'm in
a movie from "Demons and Angels".   (LOL)    Are we in the last days yet?

I am having surgery next Friday morning.  I am holding my own. They say
I have a good prognosis and that the cancer cells are the less
aggressive.    And miraculously, they found a surgeon that does
laparoscopy - although they say there's a possibility that during, they
may have to go 'the old way' if things appear too difficult.

So with that, my husband and I, again, appreciate your prayers and we
are just going with God, one hour at a time.    I'm still shaking my
head though about these birds.    I'm trying hard not to be like Job and
ask 'why me?' - but, with your good teaching, I am learning to be
thankful and realize I have NO reason to murmur, complain. Thank you
again.    Your sister in Christ, Jackie

Jackie, a prayerful best to you as you walk through this moment. Be assured the Holy Spirit walks ahead of you preparing a way with the hearts and minds of those you will be with, those you want to trust doing the surgery. When it comes down to it laying ones life in God's hands and the outcome is a freeing experience - give this moment what it deserves... Give yourself to the One that loves and keeps you. Let Him hold you. Amen?

Dear Jackie, An old favorite poem:

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat,I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord, "You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,"The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, is when I carried you."

Love you Jackie,

your sister in Christ Jesus,
Cherie c.

Dear Jackie & Husband,

Look for the lessons in this time of trouble. If you think that it is too hard on you, the Lord my ask you this…Job 38:4-6 "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone,”. We can only prostrate ourselves before the Father in awe of His power, wisdom and glory!

This is not punishment, it is teaching. Do you want to learn? You are at the foot of the cross, you have laid yourself open to Jesus wanting understanding and wisdom. What can wash away our sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make us whole again, nothing but the blood of Jesus. When realize that we are already healed, we run back to Jesus, crying out with a loud voice glorifying God. We prostrate ourselves at the feet of Jesus in worship of His wonderful grace.

There is no time clock to punch in at 8:00am and punch out at 5:00pm when you are a servant of the Most High Almighty God. We are not even assured an hour for lunch. It is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. His power shows thru in our weakness. When we are the most weak is when God does His best work.

It is all about Jesus, it is Jesus and only Jesus. I am nothing but wretched and unclean, but I am made whole and my garments are white as snow, because I am covered in the blood of Jesus.

May you find comfort under the hand of the Father in heaven.

Joel

P.S. Would your husband mind giving us his name?

Thank-you Pastor Rick for posting Jackie's update and to you as well, precious Jackie, for sharing your concerns. Chris B. said some very kind words of reassurance and Cheri c. is very insightful as well. Please know that your brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ are continuously praying for our Father's guidance and will over your life....for He cares deeply for you.

I had surgery June 11, 2012, to remove a large growth from my abdoman, administered laparoscopically, and like Chris B. said....it was truly God who placed the right people in my path to do His will as my surgeon is a born again Christian.

Please know that the church with no walls, whose Head is Jesus Christ Himself, is here for you,
interceding in prayer for you and your family.

Jesus is with you always.

I just want to thank you all for the encouraging words here. You are all special.

I spent the day concocting a a net over the windows to keep the male robin out who could see his reflection in our windows and that's why he was attacking my window, all day, and apparently it's a natural phenomenon each spring where some are in that aggressive protector role; they fear there will be other of their kind that takes over their territory. The female must be ready to lay eggs in nearby nest.

It's a wonderful reminder that God cares about the sparrows and animals and gives them the instinct to care for their young.

Love you all! J.
