Afghanistan - An American Mirror
When copies of the Koran were accidently burned in Afghanistan it sparked a furor, but the mass killing of innocent women and children did not evoke the same amount of outrage. News reporters asked a cleric why. From the New York Times:
The mullah was astounded and a little angered to be asked why the accidental burning of Korans last month could provoke violence nationwide, while an intentional mass murder that included nine children last Sunday did not.
“How can you compare the dishonoring of the Holy Koran with the martyrdom of innocent civilians?” said an incredulous Mullah Khaliq Dad, a member of the council of religious leaders who investigated the Koran burnings. “The whole goal of our life is religion.”
Isn’t that so astounding? Oh, wait a minute. Here in America millions of pre-natal babies are murdered, soldiers are killed and maimed every week, hatred is a political mainstay, and tens of thousands of people die at the hands of alcohol every year. And yet what sparks outrage in America? Birth control, the founding fathers, creationism, and the lack of displaying of the Ten Commandments.
You see religion is very important to us as well. Jesus? Not so much. Rick Warren is right, we have a lot in common with the Muslims.

"Rick Warren is right, we have a lot in common with the Muslims."
LOL. I hadn't heard that comment. Spot on !!
So "WE" are not really superior to "them" (whoever you want to think "they" are) !?!
"And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt..." (Luke 18:9, NASV)
